Morning broke, which signalled the beginning of Levi's tedious morning routine, which consisted of a slap on the ear-piercingly loud alarm clock, a stretch, a scan of the room for anything out of place, shower, dressed and then getting ready. Levi did a quick check of himself to make sure he had everything, he patted his trouser pockets.
Keys... phone... wallet. He thought to himself, before picking up his school bag, slinging it over his shoulder and headed outside. As he opened the door, the usual trio were there, Eren, Mikasa and Armin, who he had walked to school with since he could remember.
"We're going to be late guys! Come on! We've been waiting out here for 15 minutes waiting for you, Levi!" Armin shouted at Levi, as he locked his front door, Armin had never missed a day in his life, and would usually run on ahead if there was any possibility of him being tardy.
"Pfft, your intolerable whining isn't going to make me go any faster, Armin." Levi replied, completely calm and unfazed.
"Well it should!" Armin snarled, as he turned around on the spot and paced in the direction of the school.
Mikasa looked at Eren and Levi, nodding her head towards the school and smoothly and softly walked on ahead, Eren and Levi followed behind the two.
"So, how's things Levi?" Eren asked, looking at the floor, somewhat uninterested about the outcome of his question.
"Fine." Levi grunted, un-talkative as usual.
"How did the walk go when you took Areku back?"
"...it went well." Levi replied with hesitation.
Eren's ears pricked up, and he looked across to Levi, the fact that Levi uttered more than a single word was unusual to Eren.
"Oh really? What happened?" He questioned with intrigue.
"Nothing." Levi said sternly, not making eye contact with Eren.
"Hmm, maybe Areku will tell m-" Eren's words were interrupted with a swift back-handed slap to the side of his face.
"Be silent you fool." Levi barked at Eren, looking at him, straight into his soul.
"Ugh! Wow, no need to be so touchy, Ravioli." Eren whimpered, rubbing the side of his head.
"No need to be so inquisitive brat." Levi had finally let up on his soul-destroying gaze and looked ahead, a somewhat awkward silence dragged on until they reached the main entrance of the school.
The school seemed quiet, a little quieter than normal; but not suspiciously quiet. Eren pulled back his charcoal-black blazer sleeve to reveal a shining silver watch.
"Heh, eight fifty nine, right on time." He stated, making sure Levi heard it.
"Hm, if you say so." Levi responded, pushing the door open leading into the locker-filled corridor.
Armin quickly rushed into the nearby classroom, making sure he wasn't late, even if it was by a single second. Followed by Mikasa, and finally Levi and Eren.
"Ahhh my the rest of my beloved students!" Hanji chimed, "I knew you wouldn't be late for your favourite class with your favourite teacher, especially you, Mr. Rivaille!" She winked in his direction.
Levi shrugged it off and went to sit at his seat, slowly passing each dark wooden desk across the grey tiled flooring.
He approached his desk, but it was occupied, Levi looked up to see who took his beloved window spot, the first glimpse of beautiful, flowing crimson hair, pale skin and a ruby red phoenix wing necklace quickly answered who it was.
Areku looked up slowly from whatever she had just doodled onto a sheet of paper, it was a drawing of a black and white cat.
"Oh, hey Levi!" She giggled, smiling towards him.
"Morning." Levi muttered coldly, still confused about the whole ordeal of the night previous.
He took the seat in front of her, luckily Jean wasn't currently present, so Levi took the opportunity to sit in his place, the desk wasn't in full light of the window however which Levi would have liked, but he could still look out of it if he leaned back on his chair slightly.
"We have a new student today class! I want you to all say hello to Areku Kayami! HELLO!" Hanji rejoiced.
"Hello Areku!" The class harmonised.
Levi was still turned facing his desk, not a single letter passing his cold, stiff lips.
"Hello everybody!" Areku replied, once again turning her head up from her cutely drawn cat drawing to face the welcoming class.
Hanji stood up and started to hand out the day's assignment to each student, Levi's arrived, once again with a kiss mark adorning the top left corner.
Is she trying to tell me something? He thought.
After Hanji had passed Areku, she quickly but somewhat effortlessly tossed a piece of crumpled paper to Levi, which landed on his desk, Levi went to un-crumple the paper projectile, it was a note.
Are we still cool? :(
It read, Levi quickly and neatly added to the note before tossing it behind him without looking, it landed in the dead centre of her desk.
Of course, take my advice, don't send notes around the classroom, especially on your first day. Miss Zoe will have your head.
After reading, Areku tucked the note into her top pocket, with a smile.
The class continued with their lesson as normal until the end of the lesson, the bell rang.
"Okay boys and girls! Class is over! You best head off to your next lessons!" Hanji stated, running out the door and straight into the staff room, that was her favourite part of the day, sitting and doing nothing, with a hot cup of tea.
Areku and Levi packed their things, Areku headed out of the classroom, slowly followed by Levi.
When Levi got out into the corridor, Areku was by a locker, sorting things from her bag to her locker, Levi walked lazily to his next lesson, just as he passed Areku she spoke.
"Are you sure we're ok? I don't want to lose a friend already!"
"Tch, I've put up with my friend Eren Jaeger for many years, clearly nothing can deter me from friendship easily." He added, stopping to look at Areku, who had closed her locker and had leaned up against it.
"Oh good, I was starting to think I had been a little forward last night."
"It was a little, different, but it's nothing to worry yourself about."
"I was starting to think that sort of behavior worried you." She replied as she looked down upon the floor.
"Scared?" He calmly added.
"Yeah, y'know, I thought I may have sc-"
Before she had time to finish her sentence, Levi took the back of her hair and grabbed it, tightly, pushing her against the locker and softly kissed her lustful red lips. Areku smiled between each kiss they took, gaining more and more satisfaction every time their lips connected.
"Heh, maybe it's my actions that will eventually scare you." Levi whispered jokingly as they kissed.
"I look forward to that." Areku joyously replied.
Levi loosened his grip, and carried on walking to his classroom, Areku ran up behind him, joining her hands with his for the short walk to the classroom.
