ZARA
It had been a pretty hectic day, shopping, listening to Sophia and Jace banter back and forth on the silliest of things was not my perfect cup of tea. I mean don't get me wrong, being your stereotypical girl I tend to love shopping quite a lot but obviously to a certain extent.
Four hours and thirty-seven minutes. That's exactly how long it took me to find the perfect outfit for this dinner that was starting to sound not quite as appealing as before. Especially since Grayson, the oh-so-great Grayson, had decided that a dinner at the most expensive restaurant in New York wasn't quite enough. So he decided to throw a last-minute party with thousands of his snobby rich friends.
Sounds great to me! Not. So now I had to spend an extra amount of time trying to look at least half as decent as all these extravagant people that were sure to fill OUR house. Since he had not so nicely asked for me to move in with him, by basically robbing my place and moving all my stuff to his stupid mansion. Stupid rich people.
"Quit the angry face, ms.grumpy cat." Jace snorted from beside me. We were currently sitting at a hair salon getting ready for our "big night", as Jace insists on calling it. My hair being pulled in all directions as the hair stylist worked her magic on me.
Poor lady had to endure my groaning and whining for almost one hour now, I swear if she rolled her eyes one more time they would roll right off her face and onto the floor.
"You know how I feel about spending time around his kind of people." I throw my head back with a groan. Quickly apologizing after hearing Linda, the hair stylist huff in annoyance. "They always stare at me like I have some kind of disease." I pout his way and he laughs. Thanks, Jace, glad to amuse you with my pain.
"True, but who would want to miss out on a party this big!" He exclaims in excitement, his eyes seem to sparkle as he says this. Jace has always been the kind to love a good party, especially if the party involves taking a hottie home with him.
I turn to Soph with an annoyed look on my face and she shrugs back at me with an innocent look on her face. She's enjoying this, that little traitor. I can see it on her face, she too is excited about this stupid party. I stuck my tongue out at her and she laughs, waving me off.
"Come on Zara, just try to have a good time, if not for us then for your little hottie of a CEO." He nudges my shoulder with a sly look on his face and I roll my eyes. A small smile playing on my lips.
After our hair and Soph and I's makeup finally being done, I make it back to Grayson's house in one piece. Grayson sits on the couch situated in the center of the living room wearing nothing but a pair of joggers while people rush back and forth placing flowers and platters of food around the house.
"What are you doing?" I ask him with an incredulous look on my face. He turns to face me with a grinning Chloe resting on his lap, cheese smeared all over her face and clothes.
"Uhm... Watching TV?" He says but it comes more as a question. I stare back with a very bored but angry face. Of course little mr.I'm-a-cool-dad would let his daughter bathe in Cheetos when she should be getting ready.
"I told you-you both had to be ready by the time I came back, Grayson." I state. His smile falls and grimace takes over. He looks back at me apologetically and quickly takes Chloe in his arms and sprints out of the room and up the stairs. " You have one hour Mr.Archer!" I yell behind his retreating form.
"You got it, babe!" I hear him yell back, a smile forming on my face at his words. With a sigh, I walk up the stairs after them and step into our room. Our room. The word "our" still brings butterflies to my stomach. I sigh.
