"KANAN!" Hera shouted as she collapsed in the cockpit. She rubbed her pregnant stomach, but it didn't help the pain. Soon, a recently blinded Kanan ran clumsily into the cockpit, trying to catch his breath.

"What Hera?! I was trying to teach Ezra-"

"KANAN THE BABY'S COMING!" Hera yelled and groaned in pain.

"WHAT?! Oh my... Oh my!" Kanan started to panic.

"Kanan! Stop panicking and help me to the med-bay!" Hera commanded.

"Right," Kanan picked Hera up carefully and ran out of the ship. He ran past all the pilots and Commander Sato. All of them knew what was happening.

Kanan ran Hera to an empty med-bay room that was already set up for child birth. Kanan laid Hera in the bed and the doctors came in, plugged in her IVs, and changed her into her med-bay gown. She screamed in pain as she started to push. Kanan grabbed her hand and she squeezed it so hard he thought it was going to break. Hera kept screaming as the doctor told her to keep pushing.

"Hera, breath," Kanan told her. "It's going to be-"

"AHH!" She screamed again as she pushed once more. The baby was rushed out of the room by a nurse. Hera kept screaming though, because she was bleeding through her stomach. Something bad had happened.

"Hera?!" Kanan tried to talk to her. "Hera, can you hear me?!"

She gasped. Ragged and slowing breaths came from her. "Kanan," She weakly said. "I... Love... You." Then her breathing stopped. The heart monitor line was straight. The life in the twi'lek's eyes faded.

The doctor unplugged the heart monitor. He rested a hand on a pale, opened mouthed Kanan's shoulder. "I'm so sorry," The doctor left the room, leaving Kanan with streams of tears pouring down his face.

"H... Hera... I love you too!" His voice cracked on the last word. He fell to his knees at the side of Hera's bed. He laid on hand on her leku, his other hand holding her limp, cold hand. He raised his head to the ceiling and cried out in sadness. He snuggled his head into the crease of her neck, his hands now wrapped around her in a sad hug.

That night, doctors outside the room only heard his quiet sobbing.
