Chapter 2: Love Cuts Deep

A few minutes after the car crash, Toby and I woke up seeing that the meteor is halfway into Iris's stomach. "Iris!, Iris wake up!" I screamed. "Where's Anna?" Toby asked immediately. While I was trying to wake up Iris, Toby went searching for Anna in the woods. "Anna!" he screamed continuously. "I'm here, help me!" Anna screamed from the tree top. "There's a branch in my arm" she cried. Toby rushed up the tree and used his pocket knife to cut the branch, as he then pulled it out of Anna's arm.

"Get on my back!" Toby exclaimed loudly. He then climbed down the tree and ran back to the car with Anna on his back. "Is she awake?" Toby asked. "No, she's still has the meteor inside of her, call the ambulance!" I cried. Anna, who was in shock, quickly called the ambulance. Twenty minutes later, two ambulance vehicles showed up. One of the vehicles took Anna and Toby to hospital while the other took Iris and I. "We have four kids, two male and two female, one of them is not breathing, get her on a bed, now!" One medic screamed when they entered the hospital. "Will she be okay?" I asked the doctor. "I've never seen anything like this before...a car crash with a meteor, four teens and only two end up injured, seems strange." The doctor said while checking his files. "Well that's what happened, we weren't drunk, or smoking pot." Jack exclaimed. "Well there was beers in the car, wasn't there?" The doctor asked me. "Well yeah, but only because we were going to a party, and I would drive them home because I don't drink." I said while biting on my teeth. Which was my stress reliever. The doctor rushed away without saying a word, which was extremely strange at the moment.

"Your friend's are okay" the doctor said to me as he came out of his office. I was extremely relieved that Iris, and the others were okay. Moments later, a nurse said that I could go and check on them. I slowly walked in, afraid of what I might see. I quietly entered the room, and saw the two of them lying there, in pain. Anna in an arm cast and Toby with stitches in his face.

I walked over to Toby's bed. His hand slowly moved down into his left pocket. A letter was revealed to me. "Open it" he said to me. I quickly opened it and saw that I had been accepted at RoadWay University to study further. I was extremely excited, but confused. "Why keep it from me?" I asked Toby. He swallowed deeply..."I didn't want to lose you too" he said calmly. "You won't, I do miss Eli, but it's the two of us now, we've only got each other" I said softly while looking down at my shoes. "I feel like it was all my fault. If it wasn't for me, he would've still been alive" Toby cried. "It wasn't your fault. I'm still here" I whispered.

Across the room, Anna slowly began to move. I felt even more guilty, the blood pumped through my veins. I walked toward her..."Hey J" she said to me. I smirked. "Hi Anna, you feeling better?" I asked her. I sat down in the chair next to her bed. "Where's Iris?" She asked. "Well she's in surgery now, the meteor hit her really hard" I said quietly. "I feel like my body's on fire, could you...open up a window please?" She stuttered. "All of the windows are open, are you sure you're okay?" I asked again. The doctor then stepped into the room. While checking his files, he said, "Jack Foster?, could I check your vitals?" I left the room with him. It felt as if time were slowing down in my head, "Jack, are you ready!" The doctor screamed. I pulled my arm out my arm and felt a pain in my head. I jumped up from the hospital bed, pushed the doctor to the side, and ran to the door. I put my hand on the door knob and pulled...when suddenly I pulled the whole door of it's hinges. I stood up with the door in my bare hand. "What the..." I said looking at the door and then my hands. The doctor stood up and looked at me, "That's amazing, how did you do that?" He asked. "I...I...don't know" I said while standing in amazement. Before the doctor could say anything else, I ran out as fast as I could. While running, I looked down at my hands and squeezed it tightly. I felt this beautiful sensation flowing through me, feeling like something took over. I ran into Toby and Anna's room..."Come on, we need to go!" I screamed at them. "Why what's going on?" Toby asked as he opened his sheets. I rushed to the wall the room, and punched it, causing the entire room to rumble.

"Woah" Anna screamed. Without saying anything else, I took Anna over my shoulder and grabbed Toby's arm. I didn't bother to look back. We slowly walked to the outdoor parking lot to not look suspicious. A red SUV stood in the lot..."Let's get in here" I said while opening the SUV door. We quietly hopped into the vehicle.
