Crossed a line??

VIRAT'S P.O.V

"Just like you said." She murmured softly against my ear sending a sweet shiver down my spine.

I remembered. I had predicted earlier that the next time we meet I'll be there just in time to save this damsel in distress and HERE I WAS. Holding this sleek and beautiful girl in my arms I began to look into her eyes.

Brown.

Those eyes had such volumes of depth in them that I was stunned.

I knew I was not falling for this woman. I was only enamored with her.

Lust maybe.

And I could not put down the fact that her carelessness and recklessness turned me on.

I t was nothing romantic but pure physical attraction and then it was not the first time .

I almost involuntarily shifted my gaze to her lips.

T hat one moment I wanted nothing short of sweeping her off her feet and kissing her like no one had before.

Before my logic board could respond I bent towards her and observed she did not flinch an inch.

I was real close to kissing her with my fogged brain crying "no, no" when I heard a cough behind us.

I rather angrily separated myself from her and turned back to see ROHIT....

THAT IDIOT.

Anushka to avoid meeting his eyes bent down to do something with her sneakers and there I was left all alone to face this dumbo.

UGH.

Rohit's expression was a mixed one.Questioning and teasing. He crooked up one of his eyebrows and looked inquiringly towards my ummm...WHAT.

Jeez....what was she to me??

And the qs. Was imprinted on his face.

I gave a casual shrug and simultaneously glared at him signaling him to leave.

Meanwhile she stood up and greeted Rohit with a smart handshake .Of course no introductions were necessary.

All I could beg at that moment was for Rohit not opening his mouth.

DON'T....

"Anushka. How do you know by best friend??"

Anushka was far from surprised, she was SHOCKED.

"I, umm....We ...We met at add shoot and just now when I bumped into him"

"Really? Well nice meeting you Anushka.HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON. Come , Virat. I have to talk to you.He said signaling me to join him over where our team sat.

UGH.

I stood there cursing my ill stars . "Virat?"

"Yes. Anushka ?"

"Where are you heading to?"

"Jamaica"

She on hearing that reply stood there and then moved one step towards me .

"You know Virat . It is bloody strange that we keep meeting at all the most unexpected places."

"I could not agree more"I say trying to come up with an idea as to what she means.

"I am going to Jamaica too.I guess you are going there for some match . Well I guess we will meet again over there." she said adjusting her handbag and turning back.

She had walked only a few steps when she turned back again . This time her stance had more resolve and she did not beat 'bout the bush.

"Were you going to kiss me, Virat ?"she said.

"I...was not....I mean..."

"Yes or no ?"

"Yes"

She batted her beautiful eyelashes and gave me an enchanting smile  orwas it supposedto be a mocking one?"

"Nice knowing you ,VIRAT"

"UMM...Y ou too."

She turned back without showing any signs of emotion and left leaving me with the horrified thought that I had crossed a line.

Back with the team I was thoroughly distracted .

I truly was.

But I had to keep myself in the conversation or i would never be able to explain to them and end up becoming  a victim of their leg-pulling.

"Anushka Sharma.Huh.Kya chal raha hai bhai(what is happening brother)??"

"Are you all fucking insane??Kuch bhi....."

"Arree .Tum to burra maan gaye yaar. k ya chal raha hai?(oho.You are upset about it.Dont be.well  what is happening between you two) "

"Nothing...For the love of God.We just met"

"And you kiss every girl you just ,meet.

"I did not."

"You were going to..."

"NO...I mean yes..no..NEVER MIND.LEAVE ME IN PEACE .IT IS NOTHING."I said turning and moving away from their reach.

I stood near the glass panel watching the sky.

I was going to kiss her.Had that idiot been there a minute later I would have.

But then , DID I CROSS  THE LINE?

her parting words resurfaced on my mind and I knew it was not meant to be like this.

"Nice knowing you"

That did sound like a bitter farewell.
