Erza's POV
Later when I was allowed to leave the infirmary I walked over to the bar counter. There, Mira's cheerful smile greeted me.
"What can I get for you, Erza?" She kindly asked, setting down a tray."Strawberry cake?"
"A mug of beer, please." I growled. Thoughts of Jellal had resurfaced a few minutes ago and I was desperate to forget about him for a while. A picture of his face always seemed to reappear in my mind no matter how hard I tried to think about something else.
"Are you sure?" Mira furrowed her brows. "You know what happens when you get drunk, right?"
"What are you talking about?" I questioned her, not knowing what she was implying.
"Never mind..." She replied, chuckling nervously. "Here you go!"
I grabbed the large wooden mug and took a swig. The alcohol burned my throat and felt like a pool of lava in my stomach. I relished the feeling and sighed. /Goodbye, thoughts of Jellal./
Gray's POV
My gaze followed Erza out the door.
"So, how long are going to stay here, Gray?" Lucy asked, remaking the bed Erza slept in. "Wendy already left."
"Oh.. I don't know..." I murmured, averting my eyes to Lucy.
"Hm, it's been awhile since we've talked, hasn't it?"
"Yeah, I guess so."
"Say, do you like Erza? More than a friend, I mean." The golden haired mage asked, pulling up a stool and sitting down in front of me. A faint blush crept up onto my cheeks and I looked away. Lucy just laughed.
"I don't..." I replied hastily.
"Then how about Juvia?" She asked again.
"Maybe." I muttered, playing with my fingers.
"Anyway, if you need some advice, you can always ask me!" Lucy grinned.
"Thanks. Anyway, how's it going with Natsu?" I raised an eyebrow and winked. A blush immediately formed on her cheeks and she looked flustered.
"Um... Good I guess." She answered, looking down.
"What's wrong?"
"It just seems that ever since we had our date, he's seemed bored of me and has been spending more time with L-Lisanna." Lucy sighed, her blush disappearing. "I've been helping out around the guild more to try to get it off my mind. It hasn't been working." I saw her bottom lip tremble and her eyes start to water. I leaned forward and hugged her awkwardly. Lucy chuckled weakly and tears streamed down onto my neck.
"I love him... But I don't think he loves me. Maybe the only reason he asked me out was because he felt pressured from everyone telling him to." She sobbed. I hugged her tighter and I could feel my blood boil. /That a**hole, he'll pay for making Lucy cry./
We stayed like that for a couple of seconds and she pulled away, her sobs gone and her tears stopped. Her cheeks were flushed and the tip of her nose was red. Lucy wiped her cheeks and smiled.
"Thanks Gray, I really needed that."
"No problem, what are friends for?" I grinned.
"Anyway, I gotta go talk to Natsu. Good luck with your love life!" She smiled and walked out the door, her footsteps pounding against the wooden floor. /Hm, I better go check on Erza./ I decided and followed her out the door. Boy, I was not prepared for what I saw.
"GRAY YOU IDIOT HOW DARE YOU WALK IN SUCH A SLOUCH! STRAIGHTEN YOUR SHOULDERS IMMEDIATELY!" I jumped and looked around. /What in the world.../ There sat Erza, her hair all frizzed up and her eyes gleaming with rage.
"DID YOU HEAR ME??!" Suddenly I felt something sharp stiff under my chin. /A sword?/ I quickly straightened my shoulders.
"Better now?"
"Hmph!" Erza crossed her arms, pushing her breasts up. I blushed and began to walk out of the guild.
"Has anyone seen Natsu?" I asked, my voice echoing across the room.
"I think he's at his house." Mira replied washing the dishes.
"Thanks Mira." I walked out, headed for Natsu's house.
