Its my Birthday

Logan's POV

So my camp out party has been changed to meet our Alphas family and me moving in with the new Alpha. This sucks.

"Logan please understand that this is best for you and them." My dad said as I packed my clothes in my suitcase.

"It's only till he learns and I find my mate so a week tops right." I said smiling at him.

"Sure, bud. Come on I'll help you get everything you want to take with you loaded into your truck." He said. I didn't like the whole sure part of that sentence.

We packed up most of my room and carried it down to my truck. The rest I would get once my mate and I find a place to live. I can't wait to meet them.

"Hey so last night here. What do you want to do?" Casper asked coming in.

"Let's go for a run. Where is Chris?" I asked.

"With Becca." He said. Those two were going to end up mates for sure.

"Well I'm sleeping wolf form tonight. So you want to camp out by the quarry?" I asked bagging up a change of clothes.

"Hell yeah let me go get my work clothes packed." He said running out of the room. I took one last look before striping down to my boxers and throwing my dirty clothes in a different bag. I would shift by my truck.

"Come on." a naked Casper said running past my room. I followed behind him laughing as he tried to hurry.

We left our stuff inside my truck and shifted. We raced all the way to the quarry. It was a good night for a swim.

"Last on in is a wet dog." I said through mind link jump in the air and shifting in to my human and diving into the water.

"You cheat." Casper said laughing as he splashed about in his wolf form. He loved being a wet wolf. He is sometimes not right in his head.

"Never. I am just that good my friend." I said.

"So are you excited about your birthday tomorrow?" he asked.

"Yeah kind of. I mean I won't get to go looking for my mate unless there close and I have to move in and do all that shit before I even get a chance. I have been looking forward to tomorrow most of my life. And now I have to put it in hold." I said swimming over to a rock. It's weird to have a conversation with him while he's in we form and I'm human.

We swam around and goofed around for a while before finally settling down. I had a big day tomorrow and I needed my sleep.



"Logan, wake up birthday boy. We leave in ten minutes." Dad said to me in mind link.

"Come on Casper lets go." I said shifting and jumping in the quarry really quick to rinse the night sleep off of me.

"Happy Birthday." he said running and cannon balling into the quarry with me.

"Thanks man. Come on dad said we have ten minutes." I said getting out and shifting. We ran back to my truck and shifted and dressed.

"You two are asses. Couldn't invite your other friend along. No fuck him." Chris said.

"Chris where was you last night?" I asked.

"With Becca." He said then it must have dawned on him or something.

"Happy Birthday." dad said hugging me.

"Thank you." I said.

"Happy birthday dude." Chris said. Making a hundred or so other voice chiming in.

"Thanks." I said to everyone. I took a big sniff and ........... nothing. No mate here.

"Let's go." Dad said.

Casper, Chris and i all jumped in my truck and followed my dad out. This was going to be a long day.

When we got there Charlee and Jace were already working on something but stopped to help me move in. They were good kids.

"It smells so good in here. Like pine and morning dew." I said making Casper and Chris look at me weird.

"I don't smell anything but the wild cherry candles burning." Casper said.

"Me either dude." Chris said. We were on our last loud of my stuff.

"It's a faint smell but I can smell it really good." I said.

"Gunner said he would be home around seven or eight. They have a big job in the neighboring town." Charlee said bringing in my bedding.

"Okay but there is a cook out and stuff tonight." I said.

"Your dad said it was fine." Jace said throwing my football at me.

"Nice throw." Casper said a little to sweet. What is with my best friend?

"Thanks." Jace said blushing. Charlee looked at the two of them and then at me. I shrugged my shoulders and chuckled.

Casper and I went to work on setting up for the picnic. Once we finished that the ladies came and started to cook. Jace and Charlee were so involved with everything going on. we finished up most of the pole building the pack had pitched in and hp buy the stuff that was missing to make this pole barn complete b

"It's quitting time." Dad yelled. "Everyone go get cleaned up and meet back here." he said as we all started to clean up.

"See you in a bit." Casper and Chris said.

"Yeah." I said trying not to sound sad. I would normally go with them.

"Hey Logan happy birthday." Jace said.

"Thanks man. I'm going to head in for a shower." I said smiling at them.

"Okay, I can't wait for Gunner to come home." He said bouncing off somewhere else.

My room had its own shower and I was so ready for it. The hot water loosened my tight muscles. Once relaxed I got out and got dressed. It was already seven so I was starving.

I walked out if my room and smelled that smell stronger then ever. Pine and morning dew. I loved it. I had to follow it. It lead me down the hall and into Gunner's room. Shit. I know why that smell gets to me why I am the only one who smells it and why it was faint in the house.
