The Pack

Gunner's POV.


"Oh I'm sorry. I think I got a little lost." Logan said when I caught him leaving my room.

"No biggy. I was just finishing up so we can head down together." I said smiling.

"How are you feeling?" he asked. I knew what he wanted to know.

"A little sore. I've had a headache most of the day but that is about it." I said.

"I'm betting that medicine is still in your system a little. It had to have been a high dose because we burn of normal medication quickly." He said looking at me. I wanted to take him in to a big hug. Or more.

"Could be. I just hope I'm not at work when it happens. I have to work." I said pulling my shirt on. His eyes followed the bottom of my shirt down to where it covered my body then he lifted his head. I almost asked him if he liked what he seen but didn't. I looked away so he didn't know I knew he was watching me.

"You ready?" he asked after clearing his throat.

"Yep." I said smiling at him.

Together we walked down the stairs and headed outside. Charlee and Jace were enjoying all the people around them. I saw my grandpa Sig with my Aunt Carol talking to Chandler. I headed that way.

"Gunner." Grandpa Sig said like everything was peachy.

"Hello." I Said stiffly. He knew I was upset and they were not forgiven.

"Happy Birthday." aunt Carol said to Logan.

"Happy Birthday." I said smiling at him.

"Any luck finding your mate?" my Grandpa asked.

"Thank you. And I have an idea of who it is but I'm not saying yet." He said blushing. Damn he's found his mate. What a lucky person.

"I can't wait to find out who it is." His dad said looking so proud of his son. It made me smile and sad at the same time.

"Grandpa Sig, you made it." Jace said running up to us.

"I did. How are you liking your home?" he asked.

"I love it. My mom and dad built a good house. I love my room." Jace said all excited.

"Why don't you show me around." Grandpa Sig said.

"Okay, let me get charlee." Jace said running off.

"They haven't been any trouble right." aunt Carol asked.

"They're fine. I can handle my sister and brother." I said.

"In about ten minutes I would like to do the introductions, if that is alright with you." Chandler said.

"That's fine. I'm going to wait to eat until then so the sooner the better." I said patting my rumbly tummy. I felt like pooh bear.

"I'll go make us plates and set them aside so you won't have to fight a line." Logan said. So sweet. I wish he was mine.

"Come on Grandpa Sig." Jace yelled running our way with Charlee.

"Ten minutes." I told them. Charlee nodded her head and followed the others into the house.

"I'm so proud of you." Aunt Carol said.

"Thanks. I can't wait for all this madness to be over." I said with a sigh.

"I'm thinking that the medication should be completely out of your system by Wednesday but I don't think you'll shift until this weekend. I would like to advise you to maybe see about sending the kids to a friends, your aunts or to your grandpa's. Hell they could stay at the pack house with me. But having them here may scare the hell out of them." Chandler said.

"I think I might leave where they stay up to them. I don't like to force them into anything." I said.

"It just that you will be in a lot of pain. I will not sugar coat this for you. And I'm sure they don't want to see you in that kind of pain. I do however recommend that you allow us to start teaching them our ways as soon as we can. And I would recommend you and Logan start training soon." he said.

"Okay." I said not really knowing what is best. Chandler was my dads right hand man and I trust him.

"Ready?" he asked.

"Yeah." I said smiling.

"Attention. Attention. If I could get you all to either find a place to sit or stand, please." Chandler said.

"Are we late?" Charlee asked.

"No just in time." I whispered.

"Everyone I would like you to meet your future Alpha and his siblings. Gunner Madison son of the late Stan and JoAnna Madison and his sister Charlee and brother Jace." Chandler said. Everyone stood and cheered.

"I would like to thank you all for your love and devotion to this pack an my parents. I would also like to thank Chandler for keeping you all safe and the pack growing. It has been a difficult time with the passing of our parents and for safety reasons we have just recently learned of our kind. So until I feel one hundred percent confidant about becoming your full time Alpha. Chandler and Logan Rivers is in charge. I hope to be your Alpha very soon." I said Looking at everyone of them. They all cheered again.

"Casper and Christian are still second and third in command so you all need to make sure that identity need, want or have an issue with something you go to any of us." Chandler said.

"Psst, psst." Logan said. I looked his way and he held up our food. I smiled and held up a finger.

"Meeting dismissed please get your eat on and have fun." I said before heading over to Logan.

"Here you go sir." Logan said fake bowing.

"Thank you kind sir." I said taking my plate.

The food was kick butt and I went back for more three times. I guess this eating thing is normal for our kind. That explains a lot. I could eat like nobodies business. Another thing that was explained to me tonight by Logan was this temperature I seem to be always running. The pills I was taking took it away most of the time but not all of the time. And I thought I was just naturally muscular and I'm not. That was a knock to my ego but Logan laughed at me and did say my line of work would give me a body most guys would die for. But he did say all that in a girly voice. He's an ass and I told him so.he laughed at me again.

"Gunner can I hang out with my friends here this weekend?" Jace asked running up.

"Maybe you can go to pack land and hang with them but you'd be staying with Chandler." I said. Making him happy. Him and his new buddies headed off to make plans.

"Your a really good big brother." Logan said.

"They were the only thing left of my mom and dad. They are good kids and I love them." I said smiling over to where Charlee and a group of kids her age were hanging. Jace wasn't to far from her being the protective younger brother.

"I had always wished for siblings. I ended up with Casper and Chris. Best friends for life those two." Logan said making me feel a little left out. All of these people grew up together they have a bond I will need to create with each and everyone of them.

"Hey Mr. Alpha, mated or unmated?" a hot ass chick come up and asked.

"Tanya, you have a mate. You need to go back to him." Logan said.

"I am not mating that. He's a nerd boy with no sex appeal." She whined.

"Well your not my type so maybe with your mate is where you need to be. I don't think rejecting your mate is a very nice thing. And I don't like mean people." I said in a really calm voice that wasn't a normal voice for me. But I knew it wasn't my Alpha voice.

"Can't we have just a little fun?" she asked.

"Tanya is it? Logan how many girls are in the pack like Tanya?" I asked.

"She has a group of four friends." He said.

"All mated but unmated hookers?" I asked making him try had to hide the laughter I saw in his face.

"No. Um..... Lexi is mated with her mate. Penny and her sister Stephanie hasn't found hers yet. And Leah's just getting ready to turn 18." He said.

I'm not a hooker. I just like to have fun." Tanya said.

"Anyone who sleeps around when they have someone is a hooker in my book. Your just really cheap." I said.

"And your an ass." she said stomping her feet.

"I want her to be trained on how to be a good mate. I would also like it so that she has to be with her mate at least twelve hours a day. She needs to get to know him." I said and Logan gave the order. She looked shocked.

"You better have a better excuse in rejecting your mate then what his IQ is and how he looks. He better be a mass murder or some child rapist. Or just damn right evil." I said she nodded her head and left.

"That's is really not a part of the Alpha job but close. Nice work." Logan said making me laugh.

"Thank you. I mean what I say. They better think long and hard before rejecting someone." I said.

Logan and I talked with many people until I had to go to bed. My mornings started at 4 so I needed to hit the hay.
