Hi everyone I just started writing another story. I actually got the idea from a friend of mine, she also has a book on here full of ideas for writers like you and me. I am dedicating this chapter to her and most likely many more. I hope you enjoy and comment and vote.
Prologue
I was walking down the hallway to my locker when someone stepped in front of me. I looked into the eyes of Taylor Banks the most popular girl in senior year. “Hailey I need you to do something for me.” She said and I immediately glared at her. “It’s Hadley and no I won’t do anything for you.” I said and walked around her to my locker.
She grabbed my arm and turned me back in her direction. “I’m not giving you a choice.” She said smirking. “Why would I do anything for you?” I asked. “Because I’m paying you.” She said taking a few bills out of her bag that was slung over her shoulder. “I don’t want or need your money.” I said through clenched teeth.
“Oh yes you do. Do you honestly think I don’t know who you are and where you come from?” She asked smiling knowing she hit a soft spot. “Now I am telling you once and only once. Do you understand me?” She said. I nodded my head in defeat and she smiled a wicked smile.
“You will go and make Baxter fall in love with you. Then you will break his heart into little pieces and never speak to him again.” She said and I looked at her confused. “And what makes you so sure he will actually fall in love me?” I asked her. “Trust me, just do as I say and he will be on his knees begging for you.” She said as she started to walk away. “I’ll let you know tomorrow what you need to do first.” She said and walked out of the school and I was left in the empty hallway.
I shook my head and walked to my locker and got it open. I took my homework out and headed out the school, I opened the door to walk out and was blinded by the sun, being extremely clumsy, I successfully walked into someone’s chest. I started to fall backwards, but I was caught by two strong hands.
I opened my eyes and saw the one and only Baxter Evans holding me up. “Sorry about that Hadley.” He said letting go of me and smiling at me. “No problem Baxter.” I said walking around him and wondering how he knew my name, when he was one of the most popular boys in our year and I was just the poor girl everyone ignored.
I started to walk home when a hand tugged me back and I facing Baxter again. “Hey let me give you a ride.” He said not giving me much of a choice as he lead me to his car and opened the passenger door for me. I had no time to gape at the beautiful white Audi as he basically pushed me in. He got in and backed out of the parking lot and out of the school.
“So where are we going?” He asked and I told him my address slightly embarrassed because I lived in one of the lower class houses. We spoke the whole 20 minute drive to my house. Once we arrived at my house I noticed all the cars were gone and no one was home, I sighed before getting out and thanking him. “I’ll pick you up tomorrow.” He said before speeding off.
I walked into the house in a daze. I might not be able to go through with this, especially if he is this charming and sweet. And that my dear people is how I became the hired heartbreaker.
