Chapter Four.
Lucas knocked on Sera’s door, he heard the subtle sounds of her crying. His stomach wrenched, that was pathetic of her stupid powerless boyfriend. He had left her. Who would leave someone like her? Beautiful, strong. Dangerous.
She opened the door and sniffed, making it hard for Lucas to not use his power. She stood defensively. He didn’t want to make her uncomfortable, or make her hate him. He wanted to earn her trust.
“Wait” he said as she began to close the door.
“What?” She snapped, her face red from crying. Her eyes puffy. Obviously she wasn’t feeling perfect; but she sure looked it.
“Stop crying please, you’re upsetting me and Ethan is already planning how many different ways he can kill Jason.”
She wiped her eyes, then forced a smile, “How come you’re not using your power?”
He shrugged, “I don’t want to. I don’t want you to hate me.”
Sera growled a little, “Where’s Ethan?” She asked, crossing her arms over her chest. With a grunt, Lucas shoved his finger towards the left.
“In his room, are you sure you don’t want to ta-” She was already shoving past him to Ethan’s room.
Jason thought he could just dump her and nothing would happen!
He anger roared, when Ethan opened the door, he pulled her into his room and shut it, “Pepper or Ser-”
“Doesn’t matter,” Sera said, the strange sensation of darkness rising in her body.
“Sera, don’t lose control right now. You’re not pleased with Jason but-”
Sera grunted and shoved Ethan onto the bed; he looked utterly shocked, kinda like a blowfish.
“Shut up,” She breathed, she grabbed a pencil and snapped it between two fingers, “how could he do that to me?”
“Sera, just go to your room and relax, would you?” Sera felt inclined to do whatever he asked. Pepper’s personality bubbled over her own, and she finally took over everything. Including Sera’s actions, she was too angry to fight.
Pepper, Sera’s darker half grabbed Ethan’s door handle and smashed it within her fingers, locking the door where it was, and this door opened from the inside when it was locked; which it was.
“Sera-”
Pepper shook her head, “Nope.”
“Pepper, dammit. C’mon Sera! You’re stronger then this!”
“You know why she came in here right?” Pepper asked, walking over to the bed and sitting beside Ethan, “She wanted to come in here to rant, but when she opened the door, she almost weakened. You know the secret don’t you?”
“Secret? What are you talking about?”
Pepper grabbed the collar of his shirt and he faced her without worry, “The secret only you know.”
Pepper kissed him, and ever nerve in her body exploded. Instantly she moaned and he controlled the kiss. Why did it feel this good? It felt as good as Lucas’ magically enhanced kisses, and they were magically enhanced.
He was removing her jacket before the kiss could get much sweeter, he never disconnected. Pepper felt his control slipping, and she smiled sadistically. The boy he began kissing her neck was not Ethan. But something much darker. His power was building stronger with every kiss, and the kisses were beginning to feel more amazing.
She moaned and arched her body into him, wanting more and more of his incredible kisses.
He put her down under him and began to take her shirt off, he got down to the fourth button when Sera placed her hands on his chest, her face paled.
“I knew it.” Jason said breathlessly.
Sera sat up, “No, Jason!”
He turned and left, his face red.
Sera looked at Ethan, his face said regret everywhere, all but his eyes. His eyes were the perfect mix of pride and victory.
Sera kissed him one more time, just to see if it really felt as amazing as it did.
It did.
She leaned back breathlessly.
“I’m going to go.”
Ethan smiled weakly, unable to speak. So he nodded.
She turned around, running a hand through her hair and she went to her room. Jason was sitting on her bed, his legs crossed, and his fingers wrapped around the only photo of both of them together, they were kissing.
He stared at it like it’s very existence amazed him.
“How long were you standing there?” She asked him, he gripped the picture tight.
“I got there when you started sucking his face off-”
“It wasn’t me.” Sera said, glaring at the ground. The last kiss was her, that was completely her. But the rest no, the rest was Pepper.
“It was you. I’m not going to accept, ‘it wasn’t me!’”
“Jay-”
“No, don’t call me that. The woman I loved called me that.”
It was a punch to the stomach.
“Please, please don’t fight with me. I’m trying to tell you I didn’t kiss him! It was Pepper”
“That’s a joke.” He hissed, “You kissed him, if you were strong enough you would’ve pulled back and ran out of the room, but you weren’t because-”
“You want to get this started?” She said crossing her arms.
“It is already started.”
“Oh, really. You haven’t heard anything,” His eyes widened and he prepared himself for the blows to come, “I don’t love him, Jason.” She paused to suck in a shaky breath, “Pepper kissed him, I didn’t do anything because you made me angry and the dark magic was too strong.”
“You could’v-”
“You don’t know what it feels like,” She said shaking her head, “It’s like a prison, but a castle at the same time. Dark magic may protect you, but it destroys everything around you while you watch helpless. Sometimes I can snap out of it. Like when you’re there. Other times I can’t.”
“When I’m there?” He was really curious now.
“Yeah, when you’re there, it weakens and it’s just me. When Ethan is there, it gets stronger.”
He itched the back of his head, “I still don’t forgive you.”
“It’s OK.” Sera said, feeling a pang of guilt in her stomach, “I want you to but, take your time.”
He touched her lips with his thumb and her breath caught in her throat, he smiled, “I love to see that you still care.”
She could think while he touched her so casually.
Casey burst into the room, “Sera! Oh my god! I got him! I got him!”
“Got who?” She said, unable to breathe properly.
“73! I got him! The little dick has been hiding from us, but I found him!”
“Who is he?”
“Patrick Leemonson, come on. He knows we’re coming. If we give him time to run he’ll disappear, Hunter’s on it already.”
Sera shot up, changed into an all-leather fighting suit and walked out with a smile. “Let’s get him.”
