CHAPTER FOURTEEN.
Casey placed her hands on a large orb, it glowed brilliantly, and the room lit up. She gaped at her sudden success.
The orb glowed even brilliantly brighter, as she pressed her hands more firmly against it. She spoke under her breath, the secret words that had been in her family for years, and the world’s shift was in her hands, she smiled evilly as she began to re-arrange the very existence of man kind.

There was something about the silence that amazed Pepper, her whole body hummed and her hands shook uncontrollably, it was strange not to have a rebellious side of her trying to gain control once more. It was strange being all alone in this body. Her eyes found Salt, and she smiled.
“It’s just me.” She whispered, feeling her stomach and flattening her clothes into her fingers, “I can’t believe it, it really is just me in here. I’m alone.”
“No Sera?” Salt said, leaning closer to her with a smile.
They kissed, and she pushed him back easily. More easily then she was able to before, his kiss had lost some of it’s effect. She frowned at him, lowering her eyes.
“You’ve changed.”
“It’s Ethan, he’s still in here. Poor boy, knowing his soulmate is a kid.”
“His soulmate?”
“Of course,” Salt said, crossing his arms, “Autumn. The poor boy’s soulmate.”
“What about Sera?”
“Who?” He asked, kissing her again, she kissed him back and smiled as they leaned back.
“Sera, is she dead?” Pepper asked, feeling almost sad for the girl, she’d begin to like her recently. The way she pushed people around made Pepper feel as if they were almost close, then she noticed they shared a soul. Closeness was no issue.
“Probably...” Salt said, tilting his head to the side, “Ethan will be too.”
“Aren’t you worried?” She asked, putting to fingers to his chest, “being in that body all by yourself, no one to keep you company.”
“I won’t be by myself,” He said, drawing her closer, “I’ve got you.”
Pepper lowered her eyes, her fingers closed around his throat, “No, you don’t.”
His eyes buldged, “P-p-p-Pepper!” He stuttered, trying to pull her hands away, she used dark magic to make the effect of strangulation work even when her hands were back at her sides. She stood up, ignoring the subtle sounds of Salt trying to draw a breath. How pathetic. Her mind hummed, how could love this man?
She was so stupid, she didn’t love him. He was fun, the resistance between him and Sera made him fun, made him feel good. She felt nothing now, as if he was insignificant. There was no need her in her kingdom for people who were insignificant.
She drew her hand back, and then pressed it to the door, nothing. She tried once more, glancing back at the now dead Salt she said, “Why’s this thing locked?” Trying the door once more, she pursed her lips, scanning it with her eyes. Protection against dark magic, of course. Well, since the door was protected with dark magic, she locked eyes with the adjacent wall, her fingers splayed outwards, the wind rippled around and between her fingers, creating miniature waves which crashed into the wall.
Brings flashed outwards and the air that had been manipulated dragged her forwards, and out of the wall with the rest of the wall, she stepped into the hall. Dusted off her clothing, removed brick shards from her shoulders and stretched, finally able to stretch out completely. Stepping over the rubble, she smiled sadistically.
Time for change.
Casey’s fingers played against the cool of the orb, her fingers pressed hard until it almost dinted, her knuckles turned white and her fingers began to burn. Sera’s soul was much too pure, hers equally as dark. She couldn’t touch the thing without burning up. She’d need someone that could. She needed Jason.
She needed to find him quickly, she needed Sera’s soul to be alive when she used it to create a new world, she’d need all the power she could get.
“Jason!” She bellowed behind her shoulder, calling out to the thin air engulfing the room. Her echo stopped and Jason walked inside, his fingers dragging against the floor. “Jason, touch this orb, and no matter what. Don’t let go.”
He nodded, dragged himself up the stairs, straightened his back and placed his two hands on the orb. He screamed instantly, but didn’t remove his hands. The searing sound of his flesh burning echoed around the room like a war cry. Without warning, his fingers curled around the ball and he leaned into it, enveloping his whole body around it. Light spread from the orb, his body shook, then it spread from him, across the floor and crept towards Casey, it blinded her. She shut her eyes, then the whiteness spread further, it whipped from the room like a snake, going through every crack, every open door. Every single stone was turned, nothing was left. It travelled the globe, from Africa to Australia and everywhere in between, a single soul. Covered the whole Earth in a thick blanket of blinding and suffocating light, Casey uttered words as her mind slipped away, she fought against the brilliant white light. Willing her to just sleep, do everything but stay awake. Just sleep.
She finished her mantra nineteen times, one more time. Just one more. She completed it, one more time and fell to her knees, letting the weight of pure light crush her.
She’d done it.
She’d created a new world.
The world of darkness and light and magic, a world of magic, where magicians, Alchemists, witches and dark magic holders would live forever ruling humans as lesser beings. Too bad she wouldn’t be able to see it. The dagger swept into her back up to the hilt, and someone wobbled upwards, the world shifting and shaking and re-arranging. Pepper flattened her shirt and leaned against the wall, smiling around her.
This world was hers.
