     Chapter one

Narrator's P.O.V~

She was running through forest, stepping on fallen branches and mud. It was so dark she could hardly see. She ran for what seemed to be hours and finally she saw a light. She didn't know if the light was them or if it was safe. There was no noise the only sounds you could here were the leaves in the gently breeze and her heavy breathing from exhaustion. Either way she ran to the light even if it was bad she was hungry and cold and tired not to mention thirsty. When she got to the light she fell down onto a sidewalk. She realized she was no longer in the woods. She ran around the corner to find a good hiding spot and suddenly she crashed into someone.

"Owww.... Ugh that hurt." She said with a bump on her head.

"I'm so sorry are you ok?" A man's voice asked kindly. But when he looked up she was gone, he turned his head to try and find her. All he saw was long brown wavy hair turn into a corner. He quickly followed her and she found herself in a dead end.

" are you ok? Do you need to go to a hospital?" he asked with worry while slowly walking towards her.

"I'm fine just don't come any closer!" she spoke with panic in her voice.

"I'm not gonna hurt you please let me help." he spoke with kindness while continuing to walk towards her.

"I said i'm fine please go away." she sounded even more worried. As he got close he saw her... she was different...she didn't look all human. She had had antlers,ears and the tail of a deer, She had beautiful fairy wings as well. He froze in shock of what she was.

"Please i'm begging you don't tell anyone." she begged and hoped he would agree.

"I won't tell anyone, but i can help you come with me." he said as he held his hand out to her.

"How do i know i can trust you?" she said with hesitation. It was silent for moment and just before he was about to speak they heard yelling from men.

"Find her and kill her!" one of the men yelled.

"Please just trust me we don't have much time." he said in a panicked whisper still holding his hand out for her. She hesitated for a moment and took his hand.

"Ok" she said in panic they could find her at any moment. He held her hand tightly so she couldn't fall. They quickly ran back to his house, turned off the lights, and locked the doors. He lead her to a secret basement where they could hide. He quickly lit a candle, almost as bright as the sun.

"We will be safe here i promise." he said cheerful.

"Thank you....for saving me, why did you help me?" she asked.

"Because i'm just like you." he said, she giggled at him.

" I don't see you with any animals parts." she giggled once more.

"Well i do just watch."he said with a point to prove. A few moments later he had dog ears and a dog tail.

"Awwww how cute." she said in awe. She could help but pet the ears to how cute they were.

"No touching oh by the way my name is Toby" he said as he removed her hands from his ears.

"I'm Annabelle but you can call me Bell." she said with a smile.

"How did you hide your ears and tail?" she was eager to know.

"It's a trick i know let me show you." with the wave of his hand he hid her animal and fairy parts.

"Wow thats awesome." she said.

"If you don't mind me asking, how did you escape?" he questioned carefully. As they were talking about how she escaped they heard the door open and then close, and the lights were on. They quickly hid, then the door opened.

"Lisa, thank god it's you." Toby said with relief as he ran up and hugged her.

"who's that?" Lisa asked with jealousy.

"Oh this is Bell, Bell this is Lisa my girlfriend." he spoke with a joyful tone.

"Lisa, do you mind if Bell stays with us for a while she has nowhere to go and she's in trouble." he asked with hope.

"ummm sure i guess but do you honestly trust her?" she asked.

"Of course i do." he said without a doubt.

"I'll go get drink for us." Toby said. As he left the room Lisa approached Bell as if she had done something wrong.

"Listen you little brat i don't know what you're thinking trying to steal my man but it won't work." Lisa said with anger.

"Whoa where is this coming from i won't steal him I just need a safe place and he offered to help." Bell said in defense.

"That better be it or i will find your deepest secret and use it against you." She spoke with a rude tone.

"Here are the drinks." Toby said. Although he could have came earlier but at least he didn't leave her alone with Lisa. Later that night when Lisa went to bed, Toby helped bell with sleeping on the couch.

"Thank you so much." Bell said.

"No problem let me know if you need anything i know how hard it is." he said comforting her.

"For the first time in my life i feel safe and I think for once i might be able to sleep." she said relaxed on the soft couch.

"And these beds are way better than the ones I had before." She said giggling.

"This is actually a couch but yes they are way better." he said with a smile.

"Oh... oops." she said in embarrassment.

"It's ok just sleep well the real world is way better than the other place is, maybe tomorrow i can show you around?." he asked hoping she would say yes.

"Sure, it's not like i have anything else to do." she giggled. He giggled as well and gave her a blanket, turned off the light and left to go upstairs to Lisa.
