Chapter 16

"Little brat tell me how the hell I take you power." Mr. Curser yelled.

"I told you I don't know," I said.

"Bullshit." He slapped me across the face so hard it left a bruise.

"I swear to god if you don't tell me I'll end your life right here, right now." He said taking out a knife and bringing it to my face.

"I don't know please don't hurt me," I begged as he took his knife and trusted it toward me.

"Bell wake up. Please wake up I need you." I heard David's voice and slowly opened my eyes. I saw David leaning over, caressing my face, and holding my hand tight.

"D-David?" I called out.

"Yes, I'm here." He said rushing his eyes to mine.

"W-what happened?" I asked still a little dazed.

"Baby I'm so sorry I kissed you I thought I was going to loose you." He said bringing my hand to his forehead as he looked to the floor.

"Hey babe, it's ok I'm here and safe." I caressed his face and smiled at him.

"How long was I out?" I asked looking around.

"Tomorrow is when my father comes." He said looking down again.

"What, no I couldn't have been out that long." I leaned up so quick in worry I got dizzy again. David quickly but gently laid me back down.

"Bell its ok don't sit up. Everyone has had training and prepared for the war. Plus you already know what you're going to do." he tried to comfort me.

"W-What if tomorrow is my last day. What if he takes me and I never see you again." I panicked.

"Baby please don't say things like that. I won't let them take you, " he said hugging me tightly.  I hugged him back and kissed his cheek.

"I'm just scared right now," I said resting my head on his shoulder.

"I know baby, we all are." He said continuing to hold me.

"I promise I will protect you, baby. I won't let anyone hurt you."  He kissed my forehead. I blush at how he was acting.

"I don't remember you being this sweet," I said raising an eyebrow.

"Well, that's because you weren't in a coma before. The doctors said you only have a few more days before they were going to take care of you." He said kiss my hand and resting his head on my shoulder.

"Well I'm here, don't worry." I rubbed my fingers through his hair.

I felt him smile as he wrapped his arms around me. I could tell all he wanted right now was to hold me. I didn't say anything all I did was hug him tight. I looked at him in awe, sometimes he's just a big baby and I love it. After a few moments, Lisa walked into the room. 

"Hey, guys sorry to ruin your cuddle fest or whatever but we need to train Bell for tomorrow," Lisa said. David nodded and looked at me with cute little puppy dog eyes begging me not to go.

"Can you give us a few more minutes?" I asked and she nodded as she left the room.

"I have to go train now ok?" I said lifting his head from my shoulder. He nodded and kissed my head then left the room. Lisa walked into the room and sat next to me on the bed.

"Bell you know we never really got along that well. I don't hate you but I don't like you that much. I  pretend to so my brother will be happy. I hope you realize that using yourself as bait isn't going to work. My father will take you and no one can save you. I hate my father so I won't tell him the plan but weather you survive or not, I really dont care." Lisa spoke in a rude tone.

"You don't think I know that Lisa? Of course, he's going to take me and I know you don't like me. But regardless of how you feel about me, you're going to help me the best you can. I know you will, and I also know it's not going to be for me, it will be for David." I snapped back while holding back tears.

"Glad we agree." she said looking away. "I still have to train you so I can try to at least give you a chance." she said walking away knowing I'd follow.

"where are we going?" I asked.

"To the fields, you may not have enough time train but there's still hope." she said. the rest of the day we spent training together and planting traps.
