I sat alone at my desk at the back of the classroom. I looked over at the empty desk beside me. That's where Anna sits.
Where has she been? She never came back from vacation. I have grown more lonely these past few weeks. I had been talking to Donovan more, but he is not in the same classes as me. I only see him in the cafeteria.
After school I decided to go to Anna's house. I need to see her and talk to her.
I saw her car in the driveway of her home. That means she did get back from vacation. But how come she hasn't been at school? Her parents' car wasn't there, so she must be the only one home now.
I knocked at the door. No one answered. But I know Anna is home.
"Hello? Anna are you home?" I said while knocking a few more times, but no answer.
The window beside the front door had the curtains pulled back a little, so you could see inside. I peeked through the window to see if she was home or not.
But what I saw was so incredibly horrifying and my chest tightened, and it got hard to breathe. My heart fell to my feet, and I screamed at the sight I saw.
