As a lover of all things red, blood is my favorite.
23:43
I feel the air, damp and salty, on my face. To this day no one knows who I am or what my sins are.
"You can't kill the truth." Kael says to me.

North and Kael are here. They smell like sage and grapefruit zest and their traces of boyhood disappeared decades ago - just like their humanity.
North is a few inches shorter than Kael and his skin is almost all covered in ink. It's only human nature to be drawn to him.
Kael is made from sharp angles. His pronounced jaw line offers him some kind of royal aura.
"Something about you makes her jealous." Kael speaks first. His smile is quite worrying because it holds a pitless amount of malice.
I cross my arms; I'm not sure what made me turn away. Perhaps it is just a reaction to stimuli that is causing the slower processing of information.
"Look at you sacrificing yourself for others!" North wraps an arm around my shoulders and gives a comforting squeeze. We want to atone previous wrongdoings grave after grave after grave.

We smell the smoke before we see the flames.
And then -
BOOM!
A large-amplitude compression wave blows away everything around us, including our helicopter.
Pressure rises. The temperature gets higher. But we all stay still. It's still funny how none affects us. When you see things from this angle it makes so much sense for other people to be like us.
23:46
An oversized cloud of dust rises while the building crumbles to the ground. The foundation was weak and the materials weren't strong enough.
23:47
Thousands of pieces of glass punch each one multiple times; this would be fatal to humans.
23:48
"Courtesy from my sister." I shout as more smoke and dust covers us hoping she is hiding in a dark closet.
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe,
Catch a killer by the toe.
If she hollers, make her pay,
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe.
