Leo kept his ears covered until he was positive the alarm had turned off. The other boys seemed to recognize the noise and were expecting something. Or someone. Given the fact they started shouting into the open air for anyone new to show themselves and "dub themselves." Leo didn't really understand, but he was glad when they stopped.

"Have you heard that before?" he ended up asking. Law scoffed, gazing at him with a cocky look.

"You were probably the last person to enter your group's maze," Darius commented. "Which means you don't recognize the alarm the Creators use to let people know someone new is coming." Leo shook his head, confirming Darius's thoughts.

"Well," Ted said, "as far as I can tell, no one new is in our midst." He took a quick glance at Leo, gesturing toward him. "At least, no one newer than you." Leo shrugged, not really caring. But a thought did come to his mind.

"What if we're the new people?" Everyone looked at him like he was crazy. Probably for the twentieth time in a row since they had met him.

However, the door cracked open with a silent creak before anyone could say their thoughts. It was pitch black past the door. Ted gave Law a sideways glance. He, in turn, got permission to investigate further with a simple nod. Ted moved toward the door, slowly pushing it open.

As the darkness beyond became more apparent, Law clapped his hands for attention before continuing, "So, who wants to discover what spooky things lurk in the dark?" No one jumped at the chance. Law gave Leo a serious look down, nominating him with only a twitch of his eye. Leo, making sure Law knew he was getting up for his own reasons, stepped toward the door. He waved his hand through the opening, making sure nothing was in his way.

He stepped into what seemed like open space, hoping his feet would stay on solid ground. He grabbed the nearby wall, searching for some kind of switch. It took him a while, but he found the lights. He shut his eyes to protect himself from the blinding glow.

When he recovered from the temporary blindness, Leo noticed the disappearance of the bodies he had only taken a glance at earlier. The room was empty, the only similar features the locked door on the one wall and another door that lead to the dorm the other boys had come out of.

"This place look familiar to you, Leonardo?" Leo looked back at the door he had stepped out of, noticing the other boys follow behind. Darius had asked the question, though the blond wasn't sure why he had called him Leonardo. That didn't even sound like his name.

Darius noticed the confused look on his face. It was the only explanation for why he started pointing at the plaque next to the door. Leo realized why his name had been lengthened.

Leonardo Vince, Group D, Subject D1

The Partner

"I prefer Leo," he replied in disgust, staring at the name on the plaque. "And no, I don't recognize this place anymore than the other one." Darius smiled in amusement, but Leo didn't find the plate very amusing. Was "Vince" even a last name?

"There ain't no way!" Law screamed at the top of his lungs. He was standing in the middle of the room, turning a full circle. He was obviously aggravated, maybe a little mad. "There ain't no way all those rotting bodies disappeared in the few minutes we were in that room. NO WAY!" Leo cringed as Law started cursing like a mad man.
