"We're moving to Oath"
The sentence that started it all. I never thought I would be leaving the town I grew up in. But the reason we were was one that would control my life. Now finding out you're a witch changes your life. Now my dad wasn't very subtle about it. He started off with 'hey we're moving to the town me and your mom grew up in! Oh! and by the way you're a witch. So start packing.' Thanks dad.
Now here I was sitting in a car on a 6 hour car drive to a new town in the middle of freshman year. Yay. On the bright side I'm a witch and life will be more complicated.
................
Flash forward to arriving at this weird town, seeing the house we were gonna live in was a surprise. With the name of the town I expected all the houses to be like the houses in the cat in the hat. Our house was just like a normal house but had actually been in my family for centuries.
I couldn't believe that my parents had never told me about this. About this house that was as old as time. I was pretty mad, but I could see why they kept it from me, so why tell me now? It was pretty weird if you thought about it. But, as with everything else with my parents, I wasn't gonna know why. But maybe a miracle would happen and they'll tell me.Anyways enough about me and more about my new house. It was amazing. I love old houses, the way they look and the secrets they hold. My parents had already started on taking out box's when I heard a shout. I looked behind me to see a man that looked just about the same age as my dad.
"James!" My father said in surprise as he hugged the man I now knew as James.
"Tommy!" James said with a big hearty laugh.
After they both finished their hug, James looked at me and I felt a shiver go down my spine. Then as if to make things worse, I heard a voice in my ear "Don't trust him." My head whipped around to see if anything or anyone was there, but there was no one.
"Sam this is James an old high school buddy" I heard my father say.
I whipped my head back around, and nodded with a fake smile on my face "It's nice to meet you" I said as nicely and respectfully as I could as I shook his hand.
"So you're ol' Tommy's eldest daughter, I remember when you were born, you were such a small little thing and now look at you!" He said with a laugh.
I smiled and then he was off to talking to my younger brother, I still had a bad feeling about this guy. I looked up to the house, at one of the windows I saw a boy. I blinked and he was gone. I shrugged it off and continued to admire the house. I walked around the house to the back yard. I was surprised to find a greenhouse. I knew it was a bad idea to go inside but I did anyway. When I walked in I found the same boy that was in the window. I just about jumped out of my skin. "Who are you!?" I just about yelled in surprise and fear. "You need to stay away from him" the weird boy said while playing with a flower he held in his hand.
"Maybe I'll listen to you if you tell me who the heck you are" I said looking at him like he was from another planet.
"My name is Lance, Lance O'Brien" he said as he studied my face.
"And what are you doing in my greenhouse?" I said making sure not to take my eyes off of him.
Lance looked at me with a little smirk on his face, "I told you my name and I only think it would be polite if you told me your name as well."
"Samantha Magee, now answer my question, why are you in my greenhouse?" I demanded.
"Stay away from that man out there" he started as he walked towards me.
I couldn't move my legs as he got closer until he was finally so close I could feel his breath on my face. "He's dangerous to your family" He muttered so quiet that I struggled to hear him.
Lance put the flower over my ear and under my hair, then he was gone. I looked around in surprise. This town was getting weirder by the second. I looked around the greenhouse with a sigh. A shine caught my eye as I looked at a certain plant. I walked over and realized that it was the patch from where Lance had picked the flower from. I found the item the glint from the sun came from. It was a ring, with the ring also came a note. The note read, 'Welcome to town, this ring will help with your magic, it will also help you do what I just did - xoxo Lance' I examined the ring. It was very beautiful, it had a dark blue diamond with a sun like shape around it and a row of 5 small diamonds on each side of the diamond. I smiled and put it on my ring finger on my right hand. I started to walk around the greenhouse looking at all the different sorts of plants when I heard my name being called. I walked out of the greenhouse and to the front of the house. "Hey what's up?" I asked my dad leaning against the car.
"Well you need to get your stuff out of the car and since you still need a room me and your mother already chose ours and so there are two rooms left and since you're the oldest, we decided you could pick your room first" my dad said looking over the boxes in his hands.
I smiled and jumped up and down clapping. "I would hug you right now but you're holding boxes" I said with a laugh.
"Where were you just a little bit ago?" My dad asked as we walked towards the house.
"There's a greenhouse in the backyard, it's beautiful" I said with an even bigger smile.
My dad laughed "you found the greenhouse, I remember playing in there as a kid."
When we got into the house my dad set the box's down and looked at me with a smile "I see you took a liking to one of the flowers" he said laughing as he walked towards the kitchen.
I had completely forgotten about the flower. I shrugged it off and walked down the hallway towards the rooms that I had the choice of choosing. One of the rooms was a normal sized room, boring in a way. The other room was only a little bit bigger, it had a window seat and from the window you could see the greenhouse. I knew that this would be my room. I informed my dad and started to put my box's into the room whilst my brother put his into his room. To my relief my brother was happy he got the room he got. I finally got all my boxes and furniture into my room just as it started to get dark. Luckily my dad put all the beds together before we needed them. I put all my sheets on my bed, got into my pajamas and got into bed not ready for my first day of school tomorrow.
