The moment I locked eyes with Lance was the moment I was finally able to breath normally again. My body was exhausted from the amount of energy that I just spent screaming and using more magic than I thought was even possible. Everyone has a breaking point, and I had reached mine. "The vial....is..in...my...back....pocket" I slowly breathed out.

Lance was immediately untying Lacey and I.

"Hurry and give Scott the potion" I breathed out before everything went black.

...

The first thing I hear when I woke up was beeping.

My body felt like there were thousands of needles pricking it at every area of skin that I had. When I opened my eyes, I couldn't adjust to the bright lights that were over me. It took me for what felt like 20 minutes to finally be able to open my eyes.

As I looked around I saw that I was in a hospital room. The first thing I did was sit up, I wasn't about to stay in this creepy hospital room. I pulled the needle that was in my arm out and got up. I stumbled a little bit, but mom and dad didn't raise no quitter.

I walked into the hallway keeping my right hand on a little railing they had along the hallway for support. I had no idea where I was going, all I knew was I needed to find someone I recognized. I found my way into what seemed to be the cafeteria.

In the cafeteria I could see my parents and brother sitting at a table. In the table next to them sat Lance, Lacey, and Scott. I slowly made my way towards them, when I got close enough I called out for my dad.

His head snapped up and he was immediately out of his chair, I collapsed into his arms. I had no idea how long I had been out and I had woken up scared, alone, and really sore.

I started to sob into his arms as I realized everyone was okay. Lacey looked healthy, Scott looked like he was back to normal, and Lance was alive. "You're okay, shhhhhh" hearing my father was the most comforting thing that I could think of.

I was more close to my father than mother and I needed him and I knew he would always be there for me.

...

I was brought back to my hospital room and the IV drip was put back into my arm. Everyone was in my room and I was waiting for someone to tell me what had happened. "What happened after I passed out?" I directed my question at Lance.

I could see that he was upset and I still didn't know how long I had been out.

"You passed out, I gave Scott the vial and then we brought you to the hospital and your parents got here and we explained everything that has been going on for the past two weeks to your parents" Lance explained slowly.

I nodded my head and looked at my dad with tears in my eyes. "I'm sorry about James, I know you guys were best friends," a small sob escaped my mouth as I really started to think about everything I had been through the past couple of however long I had been passed out.

My dad was immediately at my side taking my hand in his. "You have nothing to apologize for, you were protecting your friends and family, I just wish you had come to me earlier," I tear left my dads eye.

I nodded as I wiped my own tears from my eyes as I laughed a little. "Wow we are a bunch of babies, " I laughed and then looked at my mom with a small smile. "So how long was I out for?"

I could feel the air tense as the question left my lips.

Lacey carefully got up from her chair in the corner and grabbed my hand. "Sam, you were out for a month."
