The Plan

As all four of us made our journey to our houses, I couldn't help but notice that Scott, Lacey's boyfriend, kept staring at me. Not in the, hey she's cute sort of way. In a way that looked like he wanted me dead.

I needed to ask Lance about Scott, because somewhere in my mind I knew Lacey wouldn't believe a thing I just witnessed considering she just met me. Something told me Lance would.

"Keep walking, I just need to tie my shoe, I'll catch up to you guys" I said as I bent down, untying my shoe with magic.

I looked up giving Lance a look saying I needed to talk. Lacey nodded, her and Scott continued walking whilst Lance stayed behind and waited until they were out of earshot. "Something's off with Scott, there's this bad feeling in my stomach when he's around" I muttered looking up at Lacey and Scott's intertwined hands.

Lance squinted his eyes in confusion, "I've known Scott my whole life, he's as harmless as a puppy."

I looked at Lance, doubt clouding my eyes, "Lance, do you know how easy it is to turn a harmless puppy into a rabid dog, very easy" I muttered looking away from Lance's face scared that he would get angry.

I heard Lance sigh, when I looked over he was looking at Scott with sadness, "I'm going to be honest, I've noticed that he has changed lately, I just haven't wanted to admit it."

I put a hand on his shoulder and when I looked up I was surprised to notice Scott was gone, I looked over to our side of the street and just saw him enter a house. I jogged up to Lacey with Lance following behind me to go over our plan.

"Ok what's the plan?" Lacey asked excitedly.

"Ok so because my house is so old I'm hoping there is gonna be a library with some books about our families or even something to help us figure more about what is going on" I said with a sheepish smile considering it wasn't the best plan.

Lance and Lacey seemed to have faith in me and nodded with determination which boosted my confidence.

"Text or call me if you girls need anything, ok?" Lance said giving off a serious white mom vibe.

"Ok mom" Lacey said adding emphasis on mom.

Lance rolled his eyes with a smile and crossed the street. I watched him walk into a large black house that looked very spooky. "I know his house looks scary but the inside is actually warm and cozy" Lacey said in a matter of fact tone.

I nodded still looking at his house, something about it just seemed so familiar.

I shook my head to clear my mind, "so in advance i'm sorry for how weird my family is" I said with a laugh.

Lacey laughed with me "just wait till you meet mine, they're probably weirder" Lacey said shrugging.

                                                                                        ...

After about 10 more minutes of walking to my house and telling funny stories about our families, Lacey and I finally made it to my house. "Woah..." was all Lacey could say as she stared at my house with wide eyes.

"Beautiful, I know" I said with a huge smile.

My smile fell as I noticed the car that picked up Sara in my driveway. "Looks like the witch hunters are here" I muttered.

Lacey looked scared, "you ok?" I asked putting a hand on her shoulder.

Lacey nodded and put a smile on her face "lets hunt some witch hunters!" she exclaimed with a little too much excitement.
