No-one knew why or how it happened, but it did. No matter how many people begged on their knees, prayed to their gods or wracked their brains for an answer, it just seemed so impossible. But despite all the questions asked deep down it was obvious that if the answer was there, nobody would listen anyway.
Only a few months before it all happened satellites had caught a few strange movements as they watched planet earth. Continents were slowly drifting from their usual places so subtly that it was to late before they realized. But who cared if their country was a meter closer to their neighbour than usual?
It didn't take long for even stranger phenomenons to happen. There was an abundance of earthquakes and tsunamis striking in places that were usually so calm, a new widespread panic that nobody have ever seen before.
However, secrets were hidden from the public by the government especially. How could they break the news without causing even more mayhem? The countries were moving together at an alarming rate; sure it was only around a meter a week, but compared to how the land masses usually never moved it came as a large shock.
On top of that, oil rigs stationed in the ocean were disappearing as if plucked out of the ground and thrown away and boats both big and small were vanishing faster than the Bermuda Triangle could've ever managed.
The natural disasters began to happen more frequently and the human race was fearful for their wellbeing but one day it just happened.
The countries all collided, not at the same time of course but Africa and South America were the first to hit, causing mass earthquakes and tsunamis in the area. Many lives were lost caught out to close to the coast where the collision caused the land to almost crumple like a sheet of paper, sending shockwaves that destroyed the homes of many.
Other countries followed suit, all coming together as if it was time for a meeting and to everyones surprise the damage wasn't as bad as it could've been despite the millions of lives lost.
The world and the continents were exactly like a gigantic jigsaw and some kind of supernatural force was putting the puzzle together, and it had been dubbed the apocalypse.
