Celeste was informed that an advisor was a position that simply gave ideas and advice to their personal kings or queens choices. Noah promised not to be to tough on her; really he was there for moral support and a shoulder to lean on when things got bad. He trusted her judgment in everything she chose.
There was also supposed to be a meeting the next day, not a formal one but one for all of the kings and queens to get to know each other. So far this didn't seem so bad; Celeste had only spoken to Annie and knew two others names but that was about it. Surely it would be nice to know your opposition.
Calmed down significantly since the appearance of Noah, she followed him through the large house as he gave the tour. It was less complicated than it seemed and easy to navigate around but Celeste did notice the lack of kitchens; she could only guess that other people would be preparing her meals.
Delighted to find that her room on the top story of the house was right across from Noah's, the brown haired Australian stepped in only to be a little disappointed. It was all brand new, from the larger than king sized bed to the gold wallpapered walls it just wasn't the same. She wanted her movie posters and photos to be covering every inch of her walls like they had been in her old house. She missed the clothes strewn across the floor and the little ornaments that made it home. Not this blank canvas.
'Where's all my stuff?' Celeste asked casually, leaning out of the doorway and directing her question at one of the twins that had been showing her around.
'It is still at your old house. Everything is in this room is brand new and hasn't been touched by human hands, miss,' James said with a polite incline of his head.
Celeste's eyes narrowed and her lips pursed; this just wouldn't do. 'Go get my stuff.'
'I'm afraid we can't do that--'
'I am the queen and you will listen to me. I said go get my stuff!'
With a small nod the little servant turned and scurried away, obviously frightened at her vicious outburst. Celeste gave a remorseful sigh and stepped into her room, collapsing onto the bouncy bed and hugging a fluffy pillow to her chest. She couldn't help but scold herself for her rudeness and looked out the window, subconsciously kicking her shoes off. Were queens allowed to go bare foot?
That night at the dinner table, dressed in one of the many new pink silk tops and boxers that were only a tiny part of the brand new wardrobe she had acquired, Celeste invited both James and Riley to join her at the dinner table which they normally would be forbidden to do. With her at the head of the table and Noah to her right, the two servants chose a seat all the way down at the other end of the table, two or three seats away from the rest of them.
Pushing the marvellously prepared food around her plate without lifting a bite to her mouth, Celeste's bright blue orbs didn't move from the figure of Riley and James sitting quietly, eating their meal quietly and quickly.
'I'm sorry James,' Celeste said quickly, as if she would never have enough courage to apologize again. 'I didn't mean to snap at you like that.'
With a shake of his head, the servant chuckled and his brother smiled. 'It's fine, miss,' he said calmly, 'all of your possessions and clothes have been placed into your room. If there is anything else you would like, please just say.'
Celeste only shook her head and smiled, now happy enough to start eating.
That night she gave Noah a hug in the hallway before retreating into her room, relaxed and tired from all that had happened that day. The moon and the stars were just visible through the silky and lacy curtains that hung over the open entrance to her own personal balcony, the breeze gently lifting them up before letting them settle again.
On her bed were multiple posters all laying flat and two stack of photos, all arranged neatly and nearly all containing Noah. She flipped through them for a moment, disturbing the peace by letting them drop in a messy pile once she had finished looking. Photos of her and Noah patting a tiger in Bali, her and her two best girl friends standing in front of Uluru, one of Australia's most well known attractions.
She felt a little flustered that James had even bought her little old polaroid instant camera, even when they had such great technology in the day and age they were in. Picking it up with gentle fingers she stepped out onto the balcony and took a seat on one of the two that adorned the sides of an outdoor table. She pressed her eye against the camera, aiming it out over the perfect view of fields of flowers and trees lit up only by the moonlight.
'How perfect,' she murmured to herself, gently pressing the capture button and waiting as the image emerged from the bottom of the camera. She shook it gently until the picture was clear and placed it on the table, securing it with the camera on top so it wouldn't fly away.
Tommorow she got to meet everyone, how exciting. She was prepared to start conversations and get the ball rolling, rehearsing the words she was prepeared to use over and over until her eyes started to droop and she started to yawn. Lulled by the moons enchanting light and the kind lullaby of the leaves of the trees brushing together, the future queen and beacon of hope soon fell asleep.
