Chandler's POV

Almost one year has past since Monica and I were an item. We broke up last Christmas after a brutal fight. For a while it was weird being around each other. We don't hang out as much as we used to. I miss her. So so much. This Christmas will be very hard. I just wish i could go back and saver the time we had together because here comes a lonely Christmas and then out of nowhere comes Valentine's Day and so forth. Before you know it I'll be seventy five and living in a assisted living home having motorized scooter races with Joey. I can't see how a year ago I still had my best friend, my soulmate, and my one and only next to me and now I'm just a lonely average New Yorker who spends most of his money at the coffee shop underneath his apartment . Oh well. She doesn't want me anyway. I mean there are plenty of more attractive men who make more money than I do just waiting in line for Monica. I just wish--just wish, that this Christmas I would get to have her back. I know I won't. I hate that I still love her.
A snowflake falls on my head and I wipe it off. I enter the large doors of Central Perk and sit down on the orange couch. I order a hot chocolate and Joey looks at me.
"You okay man?" Ross asks.
"No, but eventually I will be." I huff.
Joey nods in understandment knowing exactly what I am referring to.
I take a sip of my hot chocolate and watch as Rachel leans her head on Ross' shoulder. I remember Monica doing that; her beautiful hair resting on my shoulder.
Soon enough Phoebe comes in and tells us about her newest song. I don't listen. I just stare off into the distance, feeling myself crumble.
Monica walks in. She looks perfect as she always does, which makes me getting over her a lot harder. We've both been on a few dates but no one stuck. She plops down next to Joey, happy to see everyone.
"Hey!" She greets in her cute perky voice.
"Hi." Everyone replies.
We make small talk and then Monica pulls me aside.
"Are you okay? You don't seem yourself."
"Yeah, I'm fine." I lie.
If only it was last Christmas.
