Late that night, Snowypaw approached Star. "Um, Star? I... told Mom about earlier today. And she suggested a compromise."
Star said nothing, listening.
"She said... well, what if one day you go to the mingle with me, and another day I go hunting with you?"
Star shrugged. "Sure, Snowy."
And the two rested together in silence for a while, until dreams overtook the both of them.
"Besides," Snowy murmured, "Sunfire doesn't even come very much anymore..."
But Star was already asleep.
Suddenly, Star woke up from an alarming dream. She had dreamed that a hurricane hit their island. Don't think that way, she scolded herself. It's just a dream. Just... a dream...
But even as she drifted off to sleep, she couldn't shake the feeling something was coming. Something big.
