Star walked home sad and shameful.
"Something wrong, darling?" her mother asked.
"Oh, just... nothing," she mumbled.
Her mother looked at her expectantly. "Well, all right, darling, but we'd better hurry if we want to get dinner. Snowy and your father already went." And Star and her mother trotted to camp.
All of dinner, Star was somewhat sullen and quiet.
While the other wolves frolicked around, Star merely sat, thoughtfully gazing off into space. She supposed what Snowy had said did have some truth in it at least; it would be a good idea for her to get to know her pack.
"All right, Star?" asked Shadowpaw.
"Oh," she said, startled to hear him; she hadn't noticed him. "Well...,"
And so she explained about her and Snowy's fight.
"Hmm," Shadow murmured. "Well, Lightpaw and I fight all the time, but we always make up..."
"Well, don't feel too sad about it, Star, it'll be alright in the end," he finished. Then he nuzzled her affectionately.
