                 ----------SEVERAL MONTHS LATER----------

The betrayal of Lightpaw and Icetail affected everyone. Coralheart rarely spoke with anyone. Snowypaw seemed close to tears a lot of the time. Star was more extremely quiet now, and usually only hung around Shadowpaw, who had taken the best out of all of them; he seemed to have accepted the fact that his sister had been a traitor.

One morning, Shadow and Star were walking.

"I... I don't know how you take the betrayal so easily, Shadow," Star said, voice shaking.

Shadow stopped and looked at her calmly. "There is something I should tell you. Lightpaw is not my sister. She was born to a pair of wolves who were killed barely after she was born."

"Is that why she was the only tan wolf in your family?" Star asked, recalling that his mother had been silver and his father brownish red. Shadowpaw nodded. That didn't make the pain any better, though.

---------------

"Mother?" Star approached her mother, for once without Shadowpaw by her side.

Coral raised her head from the sand she had been resting on. "Yes, dear?"

"I've been thinking, shouldn't we move on? I mean, we can't be sure if there won't be another hurricane, and-"

"I really don't like being so close to the island where the first one happened," her mother finished with a nod. "Yes, Star, I quite agree. There may even be another pack nearby. Good idea."

"I'll go tell the rest of them, if you want," Star offered. Coral agreed.

And so they agreed to leave the island they had spent a month on, in search of a new pack.
