I fell into a creek once
Frigid water eclipsing my body,
The fallen tree I had crossed on wasn't steady,
Unreliable it was,
But she helped me out of the mess,
Dragged me up,
Hugged me and we continued with our lives,
Playing in the forest
The pine needles dancing in the wind
Birds singing,
But little did I know,
We ended things there on the creek bed
Promises unwinding
It took over three years for the realization
To finally hit me
