A layer of permafrost has settled over us
It's not melting, no
It only grows thicker
Increasing in volume
Encouraged by tears
The animals abandoning their nests
No return
A chill makes us shiver to the bone
Everyone only sees the tip of the ice burg
Oh how they would gasp if they could see
The hidden portion
For it is so vast and endless
