“Yeah, but I might have to go into the office tomorrow, and being hungover while dealing with clients is not the funnest.” I said to jake. I worked for an architecture firm as an assistant. I mostly did their drawings on the computer program, but I dealt with the owner of the project before it go to the architect. It was my internship.
Jake was my one true friend apart from the ones I partied with through high school and college.
“And come on, how could you guys still enjoy the stupid parties at that frat house. It's been three years. its not as fun as it used to be!” I said laughing.
We had always partied with the same people in the same frat house, granted it was fun,but I'm over it now.
“Just give me my food and I’ll be on my way.” I said to him laughing. He worked at the local hot dog shop, which was one of the best ones in Boulder.
“Think about it chica, it’ll be fun! You haven’t been to one of our parties this semester yet.” He said handing me my food.
“Well I’m actually getting paid for what I’m doing, so I’m there more often, and school is just taking too much out of me already.” I responded, taking a bite of my food.
“Just tonight. I won’t bother you after this one.” Jake said, smiling widely. He had dirty blonde hair with highlights, which I thought was odd, but he liked it. His left ear had a small stud in it. When he smiled his slips curved up more the right side of his face and his eyes are bright blue. He was handsome, granted we’d hooked up before, but he was more like my brother.
“Okay, Jake. You win.” I smiled at him.
“Yay, thanks Yas. I’ll pick you up around nine.” He said
“Nope, don’t worry, I don’t wanna drive your car, or stay in the frat house so I’ll drive my self.” I said smiling.
“Alright see you there.”
“See you.” I said as I walked out the door.
===============================================================
Not sure why I agreed with Jake to go to the party, I walked across the street to the campus for my only class of the day. I love going to school here. It was one of the best choices I had ever made. Colorado University in Boulder is a great school, it’s awesome to go to school so close to the mountains. I walked into the hall and sat in the front, I always did. When class began, the professor went on about how being humble and nice was one of the best traits that we as humans could share.
“But why would that matter in a society like ours.” I heard the all too familiar husky voice say from the back of the room.
“Why does it matter, is the real question Harry.” The professor answered him. “ Why would we not be nice to those who are nice as well and be humble. We have been given life and the opportunity to be a part of this world.”
“Yeah, we were given the opportunity to live, but why would that matter now. Everyone thinks they deserve a prize for something they haven’t done or will ever do.” He said in his thick accent.
I turned my head, too curious not to. He was sitting a couple rows behind me. He looked so different from the last time I had seen him. I had not even realized that he was in this class.
He was wearing a white T-shirt that gave away the tattoos he had on his collarbones and stomach. The T-shirt was folded at the sleeves and also showed the tattoos on his arms and hands. HIs hair was a mess of curls and it stuck out at the front. His eyes greener than ever. His bone structure was so much different, his collarbones stuck out and jaw line as well. His lips sort of formed a pout when he spoke. My mouth opened in amusement at how different he looked. I turned around as the professor spoke and continued with lecture.
