Josh ran.
fast.

the jump out of his window was pretty hard and he hit his head pretty bad but he still ran. where? the only place he knew.
the forest.
something about the trees there made him forget
everything, everywhere else and most importantly, everyone.

he loved Tyler, a lot, but there was always that voice in his head saying,

"you're not good enough for him"
"you don't deserve him"
"he's too good for you"

he just needed to escape. even though it was hard to leave Tyler, he needed to get away.

Tyler.
oh god Tyler.

just at this moment, Josh realised he had left Tyler at home. his head was screaming at his heart to stop doing this. every time, Tyler made Josh promise he would never do it again.

Tyler also made Josh speak about his problems rather than bottling them up and running away.
Tyler cared about him so much that it made him wonder why he kept trying to help him rather than getting annoyed and leaving.
Josh also wondered why the trees made him feel safe.
Tyler knew this was where Josh would be as this is where he is every time it happens.
Tyler understands how important it is to him.
after all it is where their treehouse was when they were younger.
the treehouse.
in the forest.
it was where a lot happened for them.
it was the reason Tyler had more burns all over his body.
the reason they were together.
the reason they loved each other.
the reason they were alive.
but now if you venture deep enough you may just be able to see the charcoal of the old tree and if you're lucky, the rusting old ladder.
that's all that remains.

sometimes they go down there and sit by it, after all, without it, Tyler would still be stuck in the counsellors office and Josh at home being abused and slowly killed by his dad.

enough

his brain was running again.
he needed to breathe.
but he couldn't.
he couldn't keep doing this to Tyler.
Tyler must be so annoyed.
he might as well be. 
Josh couldn't do this to Tyler,
he couldn't do it to himself.
