Connor called out my name.
I released my hold on Jaxson and looked at him.
I don't think what I've been feeling was fear anymore.
Connor looked heartbroken.
"I'll take care of Becky, she won't bother you again."
The sound of that alarmed me for some reason and I knew I had to say something.
"Don't hurt her." Like you did to me...
He gazed at me painfully, "I won't."
"Thank you," I hoarsely whispered.
His smile was a sad one.
And then he left.
