Georgina proceeded to park her white Mercedes-Benz in what seemed as a small private parking lot, which also had other expensive cars. With a hard hit of the breaks she pulled the cars shift and stepped out dusting her blue pencil skirt and adjusting her white blouse and neatly tucked it in. She ran her fingers in her wavy dark chestnut hair that she recently cut into a medium lengthen angled bob; talk about a 'midlife crisis'. She groaned as soon as she started to walk in her 5 inch black suede pumps which apparently felt as expensive as they looked. It's moments like these that I am glad I decided to wear my trusty all black Dr. Martens boots.
We started to walk and head toward the biggest big black metal gate I have every seen, which had small details in a metallic gold color and one security guard sitting in a closed small office next to the gate. As we walked I started to look at my surroundings. About 15 cars were in the parking lot and once you leave the area there is only trees, plants, and flower; how hospital-friendly. My eyes kept wondering over as Georgina texted someone and kept struggling to walk to the gate but still looked quite classy doing so.
"Name?" The security guard asked as we reached the gate and I crossed my arms trying to look what was past the metal gate. He was in the far left side of the gate and Georgina spoke to him through the window the small little room had.
"I am Georgina Vega, my niece and I are being expected by Dr. Warren." She asked raising an eyebrow at the security guard as he typed something in the desktop computer in front of him. He said some something into his walkie-talkie and looked back at Georgina.
"Someone will be with you shortly." Is the only thing he said before he resumed working on the computer. I sneaked a look on and saw it was footage of live security cameras of the all the area around the gate and a little bit beyond, but nothing on the Amethyst-Adams Center, maybe there are more security cameras in the interior. The security guard caught me giving me a dirt look and I sighed and rolled my eyes as I saw a golf cart with a big number '13' on it and it approached us with a man driving it. What a lucky number.
"Hi, my name is John Stevens, I am a trained guide here at the Amethyst-Adams Center, you must be Ms. Vega and Ms. Evans?" He questioned both of us and as the security guard opened the door which was attached to the gate and Georgina and I passed.
The golf cart was two-by-two so Georgina took a sit next to Mr. Too-Much-Botox in the front and I sat in the back. He was pleased by the seating arrangement giving Georgina a flirty wink which made me nauseas and he turned on golf cart 13, took a U-turn and headed the direction which he came from.
This would be a perfect time to jump, you know? Alone in the back seat, Botox giving us a tour which I wasn't paying attention to and looked like it was more for Georgina than for me. I'm actually thinking of the idea and getting into it until we speed up more and I see a bunch of guards as we drive by. They are guarding either the street we were on or the areas around us. Then I saw it.
There was a huge water fountain in the center with a plaque saying 'Amethyst-Adams Center' and in smaller word in what seemed as a new plaque 'in memory of Violet' . Botox drove around the round abound and then parked the car in front of two large doors.
"Here is where we part our ways, ladies." Botox said with a hint of fake disappointment and Georgina rolled her eyes at him for the dozen time since the ride started.
"Thank you." She responded with a fake smile and grabbed her purse which was settled between her and Botox and clicked away with her heels inside the doors not waiting for me. After she left through the doors he turned to me.
"Do you think I have a shot with her?"
Is he serious? Okay, now I think I'm officially going to vomit. Like Georgina I rolled my eyes and jumped out the back seat and marched to the big glass door as they stared straight at me.
