Chapter Twelve

March 25, 2017

Looking at Charles, Beyoncé was so conflicted on whether or not she should tell him about what happened between her and Shawn. He looked so happy in the moment. He [was] happy. Here he was enjoying a day out with his girlfriend, his son, and her daughter. Everyone was happy, but one of them shared a secret. In her mind, she wanted the kiss to mean nothing. She wanted to brush it off and think nothing of it, but ever since the kiss, she couldn't help but travel down memory lane.

"You aight?" Charles asked her as he watched Jayden run around the park with Natalia. At the last minute, Natalia expressed that she didn't want to go see any animals. Beyoncé had an attitude about it, but Charles told her that it was fine. It was less money for them to spend, since the zoo liked upping the prices when the weather got nice out.

"I'm fine," she softly lied before watching the children. They were as happy as children could get. Bey didn't know if it were genuine happiness or the fact that they had just had ice cream.

He turned his attention to her. "Are you sure?" Charles had grown to notice when things weren't right with Bey. Whether she admitted her true feelings or not, he knew something was up.

"Yeah. Are we still going to the outing?" Kim had decided that she wanted to expand her friendly outing. This meant that they could invite their friends. Beyoncé decided to invite the Jordans.

"You asked that like Kim wouldn't beat your door down if you didn't," he said with a slight laugh.

"True. We gotta drop Tally off with her grandparents."

"I told you Letoya offered to keep her."

"No," Bey immediately dismissed. She didn't have a problem with Letoya. Actually, their meeting was a pleasant one. Charles didn't exaggerate when he said that she was a church girl. Beyoncé had never prayed over her food, but that woman made sure that Bey did so.

Charles knew how Bey was when it came down to Natalia, so he didn't bother to protest. "We gotta get them something to eat. Can't drop off hungry kids."

"It's rude," she added.

"As hell," Charles furthered. They allowed the kids to play a bit more before leaving to get them food and drop them off at their separate locations for the night.

"What are you wearing?" Charles asked Bey as he looked through the closet. Beyoncé removed herself from the bathroom with her black sleeveless illusion lace sheath dress by Betsy & Adam.

Charles stopped and admired his woman's physique. She had the best body he'd ever seen in his life. Her waist matched perfectly with her hips and it all showcased in the form fitting dress. "Wow," he managed to say.

"I don't think you leaving this house," he added. Beyoncé laughed and waved him off. She had bought the dress and never had a chance to wear it. It wasn't a dress for the workplace, and that's where she usually ended up.

"Please. Now, hurry up," she rushed before going back to the bathroom to finish getting dressed. She had placed her hair into a ponytail, did minimal makeup, and added her shoes and accessories. Charles had decided to go with an all black ensemble.

Tonight, they were meeting at Sky Room. Kim had rented out the Private Salon of the club just for the friends. "This is pretty," Beyoncé complimented once they made it up.

"Whatever."

Bey couldn't help but laugh. He hated going to anyone else's clubs. She thought it was cute, especially because he was only joking.
