after john's confrontation with nate he was scared out of his mind. what if nate ended u telling cara about the whole thing? he would lose the money for sure. he didn't know where she was and wanted to keep talking to her and away from skate.

swazz chuckled to himself putting up his phone. he assumed nate hasnt told her anything yet because he was pretty sure there'd be a lot more words than what was said. 

after school, he saw cara getting in the car with her friends. he quickly jogged up to her, leaving his friends without saying anything. 

"you think he can win this?" dillon asked sam who was next to him as they watched john run off towards cara.

sam shrugged, "one of them's gonna end up catching feelings at some point." dillon nodded in agreement. 

swazz leaned up against cara's car when he got there. charlotte was the only one inside and she furrowed her eyebrows looking at cara. 

"hey caroline." he smiled boyishly. 

"can i help you john?" cara asked, putting her backpack in the bag, char scoffing because it hit her. 

john played with knuckles before talking, "i was wondering if you wanted to hang out."

before cara could say anything, jordyn stepped in front. "sorry she has plans with us."

john frowned before nodding, "alright. i'll catch you later cara."

"bye." she said replied softly, the three girls watching swazz walk away. 

"wow, a little harsh, jordyn." charlotte commented. 

jordyn shrugged, "so? something about swazz rubs me the wrong way."

"how so?" cara asked with a furrow in her eyebrows. 

jordyn shrugged again, "just seems like he's always up to something." she said, getting in the passenger side. 

cara frowned, looking back at swazz hanging with all his friends, laughing at something. was jordyn right? was john always up to no good?
