Why Did He Do It?

She's back

Penelope was walking back and forth, thinking why she had come back to her. She couldn't get her finger on it. Yet, there she was sitting there, looking at her nervous. "What did you expect, Jack? I would cry for you everyday of my life?...", she said angrily before getting interrupted.

"I was just hoping you'd be willing to here me out. But, I'm glad that you took the time to call me back.", interrupted Jacqueline, facing the floor and then Penelope.

Penelope looked at Jacqueline and answered after, for what seemed a long time. "Okay, say what you need to say.", she said not so convinced. "And make it fast because I have things to do."

"Okay. I'll make my long story short.", said Jacqueline ashamed.

*Mainly what Jacqueline was telling Penelope was how she had been unfaithful to her, with their friend Samara (she will come later). The relationship happened after Penelope told Jacqueline everything, about her problems from home.*

"But I trusted you blindly, and you came out with this. I swore I would never forgive you, but now I've listened to you...", passively spoke Penelope, "I can only say we can be friends, but no more.". Her word was final.

The next day, Gladys, Penelope's mom, wished to speak to her so she entered her room. Penelope's room was like a dark cave, there was no light, the only ilumination in the room were the white Christmas lights on the canopy of her bed. And there Penelope was lying on the floor, staring at the cieling.

"What's wrong sweety?", her mother asked, "Are you okay?". This time Penelope answered.

She told her mother. "Do you know when people are lying to you?", said Penelope bewildered.

Weirded out her mother answered, "It depends... Why do you say that?"

"You'll find out eventually...", Penelope responded serious this time feeling the intrigue that she had planted in her mother.
