Chapter 9:Why me?

(LAURA P O.V)

"Huh?"

What's gotten into him?

After our class,Kylie and I went to the cafeteria to buy some food.

"Hey,Laura do you wanna come with us this semestral break?"She asked.

"Uhmm.Where?"

"At our clubhouse at the next town."she replied with a cute smile like she's planning something.

"Don't worry we wouldn't do something bad and guess what Rain will be there"she added.

I replied Kylie with an okay face.

"Uhmmm..I should probably asked Sonya about this Kylie"

"Okay...uhmmm... Laura please excuse me for a minute because I have something important to do in the room"

I just nod my head as a reply.

When Kylie walked away I was about to stand up to wash my hands when somebody pulled my hands.

"Hey!What are you doing!?"I exclaimed.

"Shhh..".

I cannot see his face because his wearing a black jacket with a hood.

He kept running while pulling my wrist in my right hand and I didn't notice that we were in the garden.

"Hey! What do you want!"I was panicking because he wasn't responding.

He stopped infront of me but not that close.

He raised his hood and then I saw him.

"Jake?!"

"Laura? about the letter.I didn't mean to..."

"You are Mr.J?"I asked with a confusing face.I wasn't hoping that he wouldn't reply.

He nodded.

I felt the beating of my heart goes faster every time he stared at me with his dark eyes.

"But why?" I asked him.

"Laura I like you.I started dreaming of you.I kept staring at you when I do have a chance"

He was walking now infront of me.Close to me.

"But why me? There are so many girls out there!Why me! Is this one of your tricks again?"
I couldn't control my eyes when it started to cry. Remembering all the things of what he did to me.

"I don't know, I just don't know...It's these feelings"

I was speechless. I don't know what to do.Like what the hell!Jake! I was crying.

"Laura. Shhhh....shhh..."

He slowly held my hand and lift it slowly to his chest.

"You hear that? It gets faster when you are at my side"

"Jake..." I slowly mumbled his name.

He lift my chin and he stared at my lips.

"Laura!!! There you are! I've been looking for you...and What are you two doing here?"Rain asked.

Rain is one of my bestfriends.When I got in Westcourt Academy.I could still remember the day when I arrived late.

"Laura..Do you want me to go with you to check if you're okay in you're new room"Sonya asked.

"No!.. No!...I am not a kid anymore,Sonya"I groaned.

It was the first day of school.I didn't know much of this place because we transferred living here.

"Hey! I'm Rain Tenerz Dela Banao and you are?"

"Oh! I'm Laura Zane Edil"

"You must be new here?"

"Yah..Do you know where the Block-B is?" I asked.

From that we became closed friends.We laugh together,cry together and tease together.We met Kylie after three months,she was bullied by Jake.

"What are you two doing here?" She asked again.

"Uhmm...Rain! Why are you here?" I directly changed the topic so she won't notice.

"Julie's looking for you"

"Oh! Yeah...I remembered our plan for the play"

I noticed Jake was still staring at me while his hands were hidden into his pockets.

"Come on...Laura" she added.

I went with Rain.I turned my head and saw Jake's face.He sat down on the bench while staring at me with his sad eyes.

I was guilty when I saw Jake crying for my love unto him but why me? There are so many girls around the campus but why me?
