Dipper heard the familiar tone of Pacifica’s cell ringing. Per usual, it rang three times before she located it in that bottomless pit she calls a purse before she answered it.
“Hello?”
There was a long moment of silent and Dipper heard the sound of her phone hitting the floor. He went to the living room where she was standing, frozen in place with a shocked look on her face.
Dipper picked up the phone and asked, “What did you say to her?”
“Who is this?” A voice asked.
“I’m Dipper Pines, Pacifica’s fiancée. Now answer my question.”
“Preston and Priscilla Northwest were in a terrible accident. Their car was ran off the road and off a cliff. They’re dead. I am in charge of arranging everything and called Miss Northwest to inform her of this.”
“Okay. Here is my number. From now on, contact me with any information. Now I have to calm her down from a panic attack.”
Dipper hit the end call button and dropped her phone back in her purse. Pacifica was still frozen and Dipper sighed. Any mention of her parents sent her into a shock. If she heard any bells, she was on the floor, rocking back and forth. Christmas time was hell for her.
“Pacifica, sweetheart, it’s okay. I’m here. You’re alright.” Dipper said in a calming voice.
She was moving again, but not speaking yet. Dipper guided her to their bedroom and helped her lay down. He laid next to her and kept saying anything to calm her back down.
“You’re strong and amazing, Pacifica. Come back to me.”
Slowly, Pacifica turned her head towards him and said, “Thank you. I’m sorry I freaked out.”
Dipper kissed her lightly and said, “No need to apologize for something out of your control.”
Pacifica smiled slightly and said, “I love you, Mason.”
Dipper flinched a little at his real name. He only lets her call him that, but it was still foreign to him.
