3 years later...

I secured a final bobby pin into the back section of my hair as the familiar sound of tires against my Aunt's gravelly driveway became evident.
I grabbed my purse off the counter top and glanced out the window: taxi's here.
“I'm going, Aunt Lana!” I hollered up the stairway, cupping my free hand.
“Okay, hon! Have fun, now!” She yelled back in her familiar, shrieking voice.
I walked toward the door but stopped at the entryway's mirror, fluffing my hair and turning over my right earring, which had ended up twisted backwards.
Honk! Honk!
“God, I'm coming.” I muttered under my breath as I stepped out into the chilly autumn air.
Stepping into the yellow and black checkered taxicab, I directed the man in the drivers' seat.
“600 Coffee Road. Frugatti's.” I instructed, reciting the text I'd received from Allan Keller: famous, world-renowned director.
Okay, I know. Weird I'd be talking with him, right? Well, not so much.
After I left... Josh's- our apartment three years ago, I moved in with my Aunt Lana, since my parents were on a dig in Africa at the time and still are today.
Turns out my Aunt, who'd I only seen when she'd lived in Denver, a few towns away from the apartment, had made the impulsive decision, on a whim, to move to California last year. Bakersfield to be exact.
So there I was. Fresh from Colorado, now in California- the playground for the Rich and Famous, and the ones who wanted to be. The state of oppritunty.
And that's exactly what I got. Once I was settled, I decided to make something of myself. Something far from what I'd been doing before.
Figures, trying to find a break in California wasn't all that hard.
I landed a job as a minimal model. It didn't make much, but it was enough to help out with the payments. Enough to pay my keep.
Once I had been in Cali for a full year, I decided to change modeling agencies. I had been offered a much bigger job with a much larger salary.
The year after that, I heard that there were going to be auditions for this movie, and that they were looking for new, fresh-faced actors. Actors the people wouldn't recognize from somewhere else.
That was my cue. I'd always wanted to try something like this, but never had it shoved in my face this way.
So I continued in modeling, but took acting lessons on the side for a full six months- until actual auditions.
I tried out. I waited for a response.
Once I actually received a response, I was so shocked and overjoyed that when I screamed, my Aunt came tumbling down the stairs, half naked, one arm caught in her blouse sleeve.
I had somehow landed the lead role, as Celeste Kameron in the movie Lovely.
I suddenly looked up, gazing out the window, and saw that the driver was turning into the parking lot of Frugatti's.
I straightened in my seat and pressed my lips together, making sure my lipstick was properly distributed across their surface.
We- being the cast, crew, etcetera- were invited to a sort of “meet-and-greet” type event. We do this to get acquainted with one another before we actually start shooting, because, trust me, you should get to know the ones you're going to be around for six to nine months of your life.
