Melissa's P.O.V.
Dance rehearsal. NOT my favorite. We walked in and started stretching, and Jess walked over to me.
"Morning," she said cheerfully. I rubbed my eyes and waved blindly, almost hitting her in the face.
"Sorry," I managed to mumble. I was not awake by any means. Not even an energy drink could pull me out of this state of lethargy. I had been out late with Dalton the night before...
"WAKE UP, GIRL!" Tyra screamed in my face. I would've reacted with violence if I'd had the energy. Instead, I reluctantly stretched more.
"OKAY, LADIES," yelled our choreographer, "IT'S TIME TO WARM UP. AND FIVE, SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT!" We began our warm up routine and got nice and loose, ready to rehearse our songs. The music started up and we went over "Frozen" like it was nothing. Easy as pie. Since it was our first single, we'd been rehearsing that song the longest. Next, we began "Life Line." This was fairly new choreography and we were still trying to get it perfect. It got to the part where I'm supposed to spin a few times in place then twist quickly into another position. I began the turn and as I started to twist, I fell backwards onto...hands? A strong pair of arms caught me before I hit the ground.
"Let me show you how it's done." Standing behind me with a big, satisfied grin on his face was my boyfriend, Dalton.
"Alright, smarty-pants. If you think you can do MY choreography better than I can, go for it." I ate my words. Dalton executed the moves flawlessly.
"It's not that hard. I think you're just tired from last night." I nodded and let my body fall against his. He held me for a moment before kissing the top of my head and chuckling.
"Come on, beautiful. It's time to dance."
"What are you guys even doing here?"
"Well..."
"LADIES," Jill said as she walked through the door, "Do we ever have a surprise for you!"
We waited in desperation.
"JILL DON'T LEAVE US HANGING LIKE THAT!"
"YEAH, JILL! WORST CLIFF HANGER EVER!" She laughed and finally told us the crazy news.
"Girls, IM5 is here because you're going to be recording a brand new duet with them."
Our jaws all hit the floor. Had those words really just come out of Jill's mouth? WE WERE GOING TO DUET WITH IM5?
"Anybody got a mop? There's a lot of drool on the floor right now," Dana remarked jokingly. Jessica gave him a playful yet firm smack on the arm as the rest of the boys giggled.
"Jill, are you serious," Paula inquired.
"Yes, Paula. I'm very serious. Are you girls excited?" We all nodded 'yes.'
"Good, because we record tomorrow. The boys wrote the song, so you'll be spending the evening as a group learning the song."
SERIOUSLY??? It didn't seem real. Recording a duet with my boyfriend and his friends along side my best friends? BEST. THING. EVER.
"What's the song called," Aradia asked. Cole walked over and whispered something in her ear and she laughed hysterically.
"COLE OH MY GOD!" He smirked and tickled her. Gabe put his arms around Paula and replied.
"It's called-" Paula kissed him before he could complete his sentence.
"No, 'Kiss You' is a One Direction song." She giggled, causing him to smile.
"I wanted to call the song 'Tootie-Fruity-Nutellutti,' but apparently there would have been copyright infringements or something. Also, no one else liked it." Tyra beamed.
"I liked it," she said to him. He carressed her cheek with his hand and she held him tighter.
"I wanted to call it 'Ratchet Hatchet,' but no one liked that either."
"Really, Dana?" Jess gave him a look, and he broke down.
"No, but that'd be awesome!"
Dalton finally spoke up.
"The song is called..."
