CHAPTER 4 : IMMORTALITY

After the death of the princess, every kingdoms seemed to be estranged more than ever. The reason of the death was still mysterious as no one could discover anything from it.

Then after months had passed King Hwajeong, Princess Boyoung's father finally decided that no one would ever dare to talk about the dead princess or their head would be decapitated with no mercy at all. This had to be done as to protect the reputations and respects of the two kingdoms.

And so what happened that day did change Prince Hyuk, totally. He was barely seen everywhere. He kept getting nightmares making his parents really worried towards him. He sometimes muttered to himself like there was someone there.

The rumours were spread saying that Prince Hyuk already lost his mind. King Jongguk couldn't take it anymore so he called Prince Hyuk to have a father-son talk to end this darkness inside the prince.

"Son, why are you being like this? As a future king you shouldn't show us this spoil behaviour. What can I help for you?" the king finally spoke his heart out.

The prince felt angry suddenly. "All of you seem to can't understand what I've been through! Why can't you feel how much I love her!?"

"I know, Hyuk. But the past is just a past. You should move on. A man-"

"A.Man.Does.Not.Cry.And.Makes.Excuses." Prince Hyuk cut his father from talking. "I know dad, you told me that many times." He grasped his hands firmly trying to control his anger that dancing throughout his body.

"Then you should know the thing that I want to point out by this time. Hyuk, do not disgrace our kingdom by your childish attitude".

"Father, I am so sorry if I was rude. But please, please for once just consider and think about my sadness. She is my life. My other half. Sh-she always be there whenever I need someone to calm me down. Once she died, my life was left nothing." The prince spoke in a steady tone to avoid him from crying. Tears appeared pooling in his eyes though.

King Jongguk thought about something. He seemed like he was thinking deeply while he brushed his right hand through his long beards. His left hand was tapping the table in front him slowly. He needed to do something before it was too late and might be pushed his son more to the deep dark hole the prince had created.

"All right, son. I am giving you these options." that made the prince's face brighten slightly. "Keep yourself together and stay here as a prince or you are given a choice to go traveling somewhere to make your heart calm and you can build some self-experiences. We still have much time for you to be a king soon. Choose wisely."

Those options made Prince Hyuk suddenly felt defeated. "You are chasing me away, aren't you?" the fear could be seen clearly through his face.

"Of course, not. You have to be yourself to find something better for your own benefits too." King Jongguk replied genuinely.

"How can you just let me to be alone going somewhere I don't even know." he argued.

"You are a warrior, Hyuk. Why are you scared so much about this?"

"But still, father. How can I know anything about the paths I am going to take? I might be lost and some assassin might attack me from any corner." he still argued at his father's decision.

"You have two choices though. All right, you would be able to choose one of the strongest guard to be with you. You choose him yourself. King do not scared of death, Prince Hyuk." the king pressed the word Prince in purpose.

The prince seemed to agree with the bring-strong-friend-so-you-will-be-safe thing. He finally nodded. "That's it! I am taking the option number two. I will find my companion right after I walk away from this cursed room and we are going to start our journeys tonight when the full moon appeared completely." he spoke confidently.
