It's later that evening and there's a celebration being held at the Hoppus House, where you and Patrick have been staying since your arrival. Everyone who's anyone is invited, guests including Oli Sykes, Travis Barker, and Jon Walker.

You and Patrick are standing upstairs, the floor below you filling with lavish guests, dressed to the nines with their straight postures and arrogant auras. You're fixing the bowtie around Patrick's neck, his gaze locked to the pair of beat up shoes sitting at the end of the bed.

"You look like someone just killed your mom," You mutter, looking up and trying to meet his gaze that refuses to budge.

"That's not even funny, (Y/N)," He grumbles.

You shrug your shoulders and pull his tie tight. "You know, I heard that boy you had your eye on and his father received invites. Chances are that you'll cross paths with him again. Maybe you can win him over this time."

"I don't know..." Your brother mutters, turning away from you to look at himself in the standing mirror positioned in the corner of the room. He grabs the sides of the jacket Mark allowed him to wear and tugs at them. "He's not really my type."

"It doesn't matter if he's your type, Patrick," You reply coldly, walking up behind him and wrapping your arms around his waist, resting your chin on his shoulder, "He's filthy rich. His father's a lawyer, and not just a lawyer, but one of the most well known lawyers in this entire country. Get yourself together with him and you'll be able to put another album out. Hell, you'll be able to put out another ten albums if you wanted to."

The singer bites his lip, contemplating your offer. He can't deny his desires that lack the funds needed to support them, and this wouldn't be the first time he's done something like this.

"Come on," You urge him, your hold on him growing a little tighter and sending a sensation like no other through him, "He writes, Patrick. You make music. Coax him with the promise of becoming rockstars or something. I don't care. Just do something to get him to like you, fall in love with you even. We need to get him with us, Patrick. I'll handle his father, you handle him. Okay?"

"Okay," He repeats, looking down at you with a slight smirk, "I'll do it. For us."

You smile. "For us."

Pete and his father roll up to the large household bursting at the seams with more people than anyone can imagine. The carriage they arrived in comes to a stop and the door swings open, a valet ready to help the two men out. Pete follows after his father, the two of them approaching the house that loud music is seeping out of, the walls shaking from the sound waves being produced by the big speakers.

"Now, Peter, I heard the Simpsons are going to be here tonight," His father tells him as the two of them enter the house, "Their youngest daughter, Ashlee, is single, and I've heard she's got her eye on you."

Pete heaves a sigh. "Dad, how many times do I have to tell you? I don't want to be with her."

"Yeah, well, her family and ours are some of those respected families in this town. You and she get together, and we'll basically have control over the entire city!"

He shakes his head and leaves his father's side, slipping into the main room where most of the guests seem to be, a crowd of people gathered in front of the stage, a mosh pit in the center of it. He squeezes through the crowd and past the pit to the front, where he spots the band playing, the band you happen to be a part of. Standing on the left side of the stage, you see Pete emerge from the crowd. His eyes follow you as you walk over to the singer, Alex, and whisper for him to play a slow song next. He nods his head in understanding, continuing to finish this song.

Meanwhile, Pete breaks his gaze from you and begins to look around the room, trying to spot any familiar faces, when a tap on his shoulder causes him to jump. He turns around and sees the blonde man from the trial earlier that day, dressed much more nicely and wearing a smile on his face.

"Hey!" Pete exclaims, a genuine look of elation appearing on his face, "What are you doing here?"

"My sister and I crossed paths with Mark and he invited us to come to this party he's having tonight," He answers, slipping his hands into his pockets and swaying back and forth on the balls of his feet, "I didn't know you would be here."

"Y-Yeah," The taller of the two short men stammers, "My dad dragged me along. Honestly, I'd rather be home right now. These kind of events aren't really my thing."

"Well, since you're here, maybe we could have this dance?" Patrick suggests, extending his hand out toward the circle of people that stopped pushing one another around and instead opted to couple up and start to slow dance.

Pete's cheeks begin to burn up, a redness creeping up in his skin. "O-Okay," He stutters, placing his hand in Patrick's and allowing him to lead him out onto the makeshift dance floor. The two of them get into position and begin to sway side to side, the slow song guiding them and everyone along.

"You know, I'm kind of glad you're here," The blonde comments, his gaze locked over the brunette's shoulder on you, "I haven't been able to get your songs out of my mind ever since the trial." He brings his bluish green eyes to Pete's brown ones and smirks. "You really do have a way with words, Pete."

The brown-eyed man blushes even more than he already was. "Thanks."

"No, thank you. For the longest time, I've been looking for someone to put words to my music, and, Pete, I think you might be that person."

A wide grin crawls across Pete's face, his heart starting to beat faster despite the slow nature of the song being played by the band. He dares to rest his head on Patrick's shoulder and the two of them stay that way for a little while.

Once the song is over, and the band says their goodbyes, the crowd of people disperse and Patrick tells Pete that he wants him to meet someone. He directs him over to the side of the stage where you and the other band members are setting aside your instruments.

"(Y/N)!" Patrick exclaims, attracting your attention. You see the man standing beside your brother and grin.

"Patrick!" You reply, a fake enthusiasm in your voice as you approach the two of them, hugging your brother and doing the same to the man you told him to seduce, "Who's this lovely looking man?"

"This is Pete, the guy I've been telling you about," He answers you, wrapping his arm around the man's back, "And Pete, this is (Y/N), my sister."

"It's a pleasure to meet you," You say, "I'm sure the two of you are going to be great together."

Pete chuckles nervously, rubbing the back of his neck and saying, "We're not...We're not together."

"Nor will you ever be," A fourth party voice joins in on the conversation. Everyone looks back and sees Pete's father standing behind the two men, his arms crossed over his chest and an unhappy expression slathered across his face.
