- Katniss pov -

My name is Katniss Everdeen, I'm 18 years old. I'm going to my last year of high schooling school glad because school is really annoying and boring.

All I do is get bullied, and I only have one friend and his name is Gale. But I need more friends... I want more friends.

Gale tells me that he's the only friend that I'll ever need but I know that's a lie. Gale has been my best friend forever, but now he's just been acting weird around me and I have no clue why?

My dad is dead, he died in a mining accident 5 years ago. My mom well she is just a jerk, she just got remarried to a guy named Bob. What's next, she can't get pregnant, can she? She ruins my life, my sister Prim well she died in a car crash, 2 years ago, I'm still not over it. I've lost everyone that I have loved. Now I'm all alone, I need someone, I want my own family.

So this is my life, what am I going to do. I have to go to school tomorrow, this is going to be horrible. Then I hear my mom calling my name! I slowly walk down the stairs and...

- Peeta pov (night before school) -

Hello, my name is Peeta Mellark, I'm 18 years old, I love to bake and sleep with the windows open and double knot my shoe laces.

My mom well she beats me but I'm used to it... At least now anyways... So tomorrow is my first day at my new high school, I just moved here with my mom, dad, and brother Rye, but he is in college so he is like never home, and I never see him which can be a good and bad thing.

This is my life I just want a real happy family of my own...

- Gale pov -

Hi, my name is Gale tomorrow I am going to my last year of high school, with my best friend Katniss, we have been friends since we were 10 years old.

It can't... It won't change now, will it? I have loved her forever now I'm going to ask her out, tomorrow night. She will say yes she says that all the guys at our school are gross anyways.

- Katniss pov -

When I walk down the stairs and.... see Bob and my mom on the couch, they tell me to sit so I do. Then my mom says some shocking words

"Well, we have some news I'm kind of pregnant!" My mom said, happily oh my god, does she not know how life changing this can be for me.

I was so scared this would happen, so I just nod then go up to my room. I brush my teeth and pick out my clothes for the next day and go right to bed tomorrow is going to be a big day.

I walk home with a smile on my face, today I and my dad are going hunting together. I walk into the house and see my mom crying.

"Mom what's wrong!" I asked, with lots of concern, running up to her...

"It's your dad he died in a mining accident, he blew up into a million pieces!" She said, crying then screaming.

I see my dad flying in the air and into a million pieces in my mind.

Now I can't stop seeing that picture everywhere in my mind, who will feed the family, he was the one that had the job that paid the most, the one that kept us alive...

I wake up sweating, crying and breathing heavily, I wish someone could save me from my nightmares!

But I will always have them for the rest of my life, there is nothing I can do about it. Let's just say that I did not get that much sleep that night. When I go back to sleep only I fall into another nightmare...

I give Prim on last hug goodbye, then I wave. When the car drives down the road.

If your wondering, Prim is going on a vacation with her best friend Rue, and Rue's big brother Thresh is going with them, to make sure everything is fine. I walk up to my room, it feels so empty without her! Just then I get a phone call...

"Hello? " I asked.

"Are you Katniss Everdeen?" The person asked on the other line.

"Yes?" I said nervously... Who is this person?

"Your sister Primrose and her best friends brother and her best friend were all found in a car crash and all dead! I'm sorry for your losses."

The random person says and then hangs up! I start screaming and crying she can't be dead... I run out of the house and see a sight I don't ever want to see again...

I wake up screaming Prim's name! My nightmares just switch from person to person. I wish that they could get better, but I don't know what will make them better.
