chapter 6: Why Can't It Be Like That

Narrator's POV

As Lisa and Dani's conversation escalated the thought of Lauren never went back to Lisa's mind

Eventually the two watched a movie and Lisa fell asleep while Dani just went upstairs to her room, she closed the lights besides the one in the kitchen which would provide Lisa not complete and utter darkness and so that Lauren wouldn't trip or stumble when she gets home 

About an hour later, the front door opened and Lauren came in, she was exhausted and was feeling dehydrated so she tried to go to the kitchen where the light was in but not before noticing a sleeping Lisa on the couch 

Lauren then went to the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water but quickly got back to where Lisa was and sat down on the small chair next to the couch 

She had an emotionless face on for some reason just thinking while her eyes were kept straight on her older sister who was sleeping 

Soon Lisa moved a bit and slowly opened her eyes to see Lauren with a glass at hand and a small smile

"What time is it?" Lisa asked sitting up and rubbing her eyes, Lauren just looked at the wall clock behind Lisa before answering her question

"About midnight" Lauren replied 

"Wait where were you? Gosh, I was supposed to go after you but I got distracted" Lisa admits and Lauren just nods slowly

"I was just out somewhere" Lauren says

"Alone?" Lisa asks getting worried

"Yeah" Lauren shrugs not making a big deal

"Seriously though? And you go home this late?" Lisa then says

"I... uh... sorry" Lauren was immediately speechless since she usually goes out like this now 

"Sorry, I just got worried" Lisa explains and nods

"What about you? What are you doing here sleeping on the couch" Lauren asks

"Dani and I were watching a movie, guess I fell asleep" She says and Lauren nods 

"So where'd you go?" Lisa adds 

"I just went to that certain place of mine that helps me think" She says not wanting to tell Lisa where that is

"Okay fine but promise me that one day you'll show me where" Lisa says and Lauren just nods

"Hey uh you should really go to sleep" Lauren says getting up and going to the kitchen

Lisa then couldn't help but feel as if something was off with Lauren 

But at the same time she didn't want to think too much of it since maybe her younger sister is just tired or sleepy because it is late already

"You should probably sleep in my room, since Dani might explode on you when you wake her up at this time" Lauren says from the kitchen

"Okay, I'll see you later?" Lisa asks 

"Yeah, I'll be up in a minute" Lauren replies and Lisa nods to herself and makes her way up the stairs and into Lauren's room 

She positions herself to the right of the comfy bed and put herself underneath the covers 

A few minutes later Lauren enters the room to find Lisa awake, she just gets into bed with her about to sleep when Lisa spoke

"Since when do you go to that place of yours?" Lisa asks, curious because before she left Lauren never wanted to leave the house at night especially alone. There was silence until Lauren's voice filled the room

"Ever since you left" Lauren says quietly but Lisa heard it loud and clear

And she has to admit it shocked her, and now she's thinking that what if she never left would Lauren ever just disappear and come back late

"Sorry" Lauren says taking Lisa away from the thoughts that were consuming her just earlier

"What?" Lisa asks not really knowing why Lauren just apologized

"Your breathing became uneven so I thought that I said something wrong" Lauren says 

"Oh uh no it's okay, we should really just sleep" Lisa says and Lauren doesn't respond as she just turns around so that her back is facing her sister 

Lisa just pushes all the thoughts aside and lets darkness consume her

~Two Days Later~

Lisa's POV

Lauren and I were about to leave and go to the airport to go to Colorado which is the first place we were performing at

As we got past security with Ryder and our suitcases, there was a bunch of fans, not too many since we were leaving pretty early in the morning 

After we just needed to wait until we could board our flight, I then thought of promoting my tour so I got my phone out and got onto my camera and took a picture of Lauren looking out where the planes are and posted it with the caption: If you want to see Lauren and I perform click the link!

Minutes later I see people commenting saying like Oh my gosh! You're killing me and all that 

I then realized that I haven't called Colin yet so I go to my contacts and dial his number, after a few rings he answered

"Hey babe! Oh gosh I want to see you already" He whines and I chuckle

"I want to see you already too" I say

"Hey listen I already replaced the sheets in the guest room where your sister is going to be staying" He says 

"That's great! I'm sure that Lauren would be so tired so a bed is going to be good" I reply

"Cool" He says but then I hear that we're now supposed to board our flight 

"I need to go now Colin" I say 

"Okay see you, I love you" He says 

"I love you too" I say and hang up then see Lauren looking at me with a sad look and she then thought that it's time to ask Lauren 

"Are you okay?" She asks her as they got seated on the plane

"Yeah" Lauren replies

"Lauren like seriously are you okay?" Lisa asks again

"Yeah, maybe homesick it's been a while since I've last toured" Lauren says and Lisa nods

She then grabs Lauren's hand 

"You've got me" She says
