Your POV**
"Wake up, Willow! I'm taking you to school!" My mom shook me and laughed.
"Get. The. Hell. Out." I said, throwing a pillow.
"Up, now!" She thumped my forehead.
I opened my eyes and shut them tightly, defying her. She grabbed my ankles and yanked me out of bed.
"Noooo, MAAAAAAAAAM!" I laughed.
"Get up, Will! Your uniforms on the bed!"
I groaned as she stepped out of my room. I looked in my mirror. Fucked up hair, red eyes, and drool covered my face.
I carried out my morning routine of brushing my teeth, taking a vitamin, fixing my (h/l) (h/c), and washing my face.
My mom was a single parent. We had just moved her since my father passed in the army. He was wounded and the wound ended up being too deep to repair. That was only 2 years ago but my mom didn't react the way you'd expect. She was all smiles and she grew closer to me in a way. Her first order of business was becoming a lawyer like she had planned. She just graduated and that's why we've moved here. The second order was to enroll me into hell. Uh, I mean, Prep school. "Helena Preparatory Academy".
I sighed at the thought of a fucking PREP school. Jeez. I had been in the slums of public school for my whole life! Damn it. I only agreed to this because my mother had never officially broke down like I did. I went mute for a little. Eventually, I realized life didn't stop for me just because it stopped for him. I could still make him proud. Mom, on the other hand, she hasn't cried since the funeral. I felt she could break at any moment.
I stared at the uniform hanging on my door knob. A blue blazer with an ugly patch on it, a white button up, a red and blue tie, and a -- HELL TO THE NO!
"I AM NOT WEARING A SKIRT, MOTHER!" I screamed down the staircase.
She walked to the end of it and I stared at her from above, cringing at the sight of a skirt.
Listen, skirts are cool and all but I am not fucking wearing a black skirt AND a uniform. I WANT SWEATPANTS, NOT AN UNCOMFORTABLE SKIRT!
"You're going to be late, Willow!" She tapped her foot in her brown pant suit.
You're doing this for mom, for mom.
I slipped on my ugly uniform and stomped down the stairs. I grabbed my brown messenger bag and slung it around my torso, "let's go," I said, through gritted teeth.
My mom tried to stifle her laugh but failed.
TIME SKIP: ARRIVING TO THE SCHOOL!
I sighed at the gigantic school. Here goes nothing. I waved to my mom and headed up to the school.
I walked up the steps and managed to trip on the last one. Way to fucking go.
"You okay?" A girl with odd hair asked me.
She had black on one half of her head and blonde on the other, she had bangs cut straight across, and it was pulled into a bun that sat atop her head.
"Yeah, fine," I said, dusting myself off.
DID I FUCKING MENTION GIRLS HAD TO WEAR KNEE SOCKS? FUCKING KNEE SOCKS, MAN!
"I'm Melanie," she smiled.
I took the girl in. She was so attractive. She had matte, red stained lips and a gap. You'd think it would be gross but she worked it. That smile of hers was so bright. The space between her teeth made it all the better. She had a pastel pink backpack with an ice cream on it and of course, the same uniform too.
"Willow," I introduced myself, maintaining my composure. I wanted to drool looking at her.
"Well, I hope to see you around Ms. Willow," she waved as she headed into the school.
Despite having met a pretty girl, this was still hell and I have my mom to blame for it.
Mikey's POV**
Gerard and I sighed in an odd unison as he, Ray, and I walked inside the all too familiar "Helena Prep". Our mom carpooled. Gerard and I had always been enrolled into private schools and we'd been at Helena Prep for about 2 years already. Gerard was a junior and I, a tiny sophomore.
It was all too boring, just like the movies. The school was all separated into groups, cliques, gangs, crews, ranks, choose your poison. Unfortunately, Gerard and were slumped together in the same *insert tacky name for the people you've selected to spend the rest of your high school years with*. The losers.
Come on. We practically defined losers. Our friends Ray, Frank, and Bob were pretty much destined to meet us. We liked D&D, Audrey Hepburn, Fangoria, Harry Houdini, and croquet.
"...We can't swim, we can't dance, and we don't know karate! Face it, we're never gonna make it!" Ray told Gerard.
"For the last time today, Ray, I don't wanna make it, I JUST WANNA --"
The bell rung and our old friends, Melanie and Ashley, oops, I meant "Halsey" walked up to us. She had literally threatened to fight anyone who didn't call her by her new name.
Halsey had a thing for wigs and I could honestly say that she looked very nice in them. For the first day of school, aka today, she chose a platinum blonde wig. It was short and had straight across bangs. Instead of her blazer, she wore her varsity tennis jacket she'd gotten from last year.
"You just wanna what?" she laughed along with Melanie.
"Nothing!" Gerard scoffed and started walking to his first class. Ray followed him.
"Hiya, Michael!" Melanie smiled at me and embraced me. I hugged back slightly.
I gave a small smirk and waved at Ashley -- fuck, Halsey. I didn't talk very much. It just wasn't my thing.
"It's Mute Michael!" Halsey laughed as she rubbed my head.
Not this shit again!
We walked in together and Melanie chattered away with Halsey about their summer.
Halsey's consisted of a country club and a crush on an older guy which I found to be hilarious since it was her boyfriend's father.
Melanie's included reading, writing, extra classes, and smoking cannabis with her older brother as her parents duked it out in the living room every day.
We all parted ways and walked to our first period classes.
Great. Same snobby, rich kids as every year.
But that wasn't it. At least not this time. I had English first period and there happened to be someone different sitting in the corner desk. She had (h/c), (h/l) hair and when she looked up, she seemed to have pretty (e/c) eyes.
Gosh, she's pretty.
I guess she saw me staring and she made eye contact and raised an eyebrow. I felt my cheeks burn up I looked all around the room, hoping to not make eye contact with the obviously pretty girl I was staring at.
"Look at little Michael Way!" I heard an obnoxious voice yell out as I walked to a seat two rows in front of that girl.
It was that dick, Aaron. He threw a piece of crumpled up paper at me and laughed.
Idiot.
Why did my mom force me to enroll into hell?
