CHAPTER 7

After that day it was a bond created between Sandhir. They had experienced and taken their relation to a new level of love and understanding. Randhir too kept his promise and had prioritised his things. Vardhan and Maya was happy to see a positive change in Randhir. While Vidushi, Parth, Sristi and Sahil could witness the growth of Sandhir's love. Anybody could tell that these two people were madly in love with each other. Sanyu often used to joke around Randhir with name of Siddharth and Randhir used to still get jealous of him. Today was the day when they will get official in front of society, today was their engagement. It was special request of Sanyukta to decorate the hall with bright colours like, red, orange, pink, yellow, green. Whereas Randhir wanted the decoration to be classy in white and black, but we all know world is ruled by girls. And hence Sanyu won and the whole engagement was organised with brightness.

In words if Sanyukta,"life is a one-time offer, why to waste it in dullness. Colours are flavours of life so let everything be colourfull. Means they are celebrating wedding and not organising a funeral that everything be dull."

The girls were ready and so were the boys. The whole Shekhawat house was decorated like a garden, with flowers around. Even though it was the Hall were the engagement ceremony was going to take placw but Maya wanted to decorate the house too, as her son had agreed to marriage after great difficulty.

Vidushi-"Randhir,Parth, Sahil bhai, Sristi Bhabhi come down, or else we will get late."

"Coming Vidushi stop shouting" said Parth as he came down. He was wearing a purple sherwani.

Sahil-"exactly stop shouting or else everyone will become deaf." He was wearing a coffee colour sherwani.

Sristi-"shut up you both, don't you guys dare to say anything against her."

Parth-"arre bhabhi we were just joking around."

Maya-"stop joking. Its Your brother's engagement and you guys are chilling. Is everything kept in car?" She was wearing a royal blue saari.

Sahil-"yes maa stop worrying everything is ready."

Vardhan-"if everything is ready than what are we waiting for? Lets go."

Sristi-"yes we will go for sure Papa but let the groom arrive atleast."

Randhir-"groom is ready bhabhi. So how am I looking?"

Vidushi-"perfect bhai. I must say you and Sanyukta make a really cool couple. Now lets go."

Parth-"yes but we all will not be able to fit together as you know there are stuffs of shagun and all."

Randhir-"its ohk you guys go in one car and I will come in another."

Sristi-"oh right like king, alone in his chariot."

Randhir rolled his eyes, "whatever Bhabhi. Now lets go."

Vardhan-"ohk its decided but Randhir don't be late come fast."

Randhir-"yes Dad."

IN HALL

"I can't believe my daughter is getting engaged today." Said Anju with moist eyes.

"Maa its just my engagement not my Bidaai, stop crying" said Sanyukta, wiping away Anju's tears.

"Oh my God, Sanyu you looking so pretty, Randhir toh gaya aaj." Said Vidushi entering the hall.

Sristi-"seriously my sister-in-law is looking so pretty. I am proud that I am your Bhabhi."

Parth-"we are proud that she is my sister."

Sahil-"seriously Sanyukta, I think you need to check your eyes" Sanyukta gave him a curious look, "I mean I am sure no normal girl can agree to marry my abnormal brother" and they all shared a hearty laugh. Sanyukta was looking around for the one person for whom she is waiting, but he could not be seen. Anju noticed Sanyukta's anciety hemce she decided to ask about Randhir.

Anju-"bhaisahab where is Randhir?"

Vardhan-"behenji actually we all could not adjust in one car, so he is coming in another car, alone."

ONE AND A HALF HOUR LATER

The guests had already arrived but there was no sign of Randhir. Parth, Sahil and Vradhan were calling Randhir but it went in vain, his cell was switched off. Here Sristi and Vidushi were accompaning Sanyukta and trying to divert her mind. Whereas Maya and Anju were attending guests.

Mrs. Kapoor-"Maya when will the engagement start? Where is Randhir?"

Maya-"oh he is on his way. You know the traffic these days. It takes two hours to deal with a route of fourty-five minutes. Please excuse me."

She went upto Vardhan and said, "Vardhan call Randhir, where is this boy? Look at Sanyukta her face is starting to fall but she is giving fake smiles."

Vardhan-"I am trying to reach him but his cell is unreachable."

"Papa" they turned around to find Sanyukta standing, "is everything fine? My heart is thumping loudly"

Maya caressed her head and said, "relax beta. You know how workholic Randhir is. I am sure he must have got stuck in some work. He will come soon" Vardhan also tried reassure her with a smile. Suddenly his cell rang, and he answered the call.
