Ch2: A Challenge

Gloria snapped her neck back gulping the remainder of her water wide eyed staring at Max as if saying 'if you don't let go of me we going have issues.
He smirked as she retaliate, snatching her hand away eyeing him as if he was speaking another entire different language.
After getting tired of his games she  attempted to walk down the bleachers grabbing her water bottle in one hand and her bag in the other.
Then Max cleared his voice, staggering her movements until she stop dead in her tracks.
In eerie silence she fumble with her glasses that perfectly covered her two different color eyes.
She looked up angry,narrowing her eyebrow.
"What, are you going to eye rape me,or talk?
Max jaw hit the ground and let some stun sounds before speaking.
"No Fair"
She tucked her shoulder length hair behind her ear and walk away without uttering another word.
She gathered her belongings and walked down the bleachers ignoring his attempt of an explanation.
She had no time for games especially not from him,it was like being a puppet being played with strings; and it can be the worse feeling ever.
She should know,she came from and abusive childhood,being adopted a few years later.
As Gloria thought about her past she disappeared from Max sight and into the bathroom,where it echo from her half hearted chuckle.
 
                 Max Fineler:

She just walked away,not even responding.
She definitely was a handful that's why I want to get to know her.
Knowing how the girls I date and breakup within a week,I was just looking for a friend at friend so I wouldn't be alone in this one dimensional world they call life.
Max had friend,guy friends,but he need girl-friend y'know.

And ever since Jasmine died in the car accident those year ago,he been a broken soul,and refused to get that close to anybody again. But when he let he walls down a little she comes out and says some bull like that. He shook himself out his thoughts and watch her walk out the bathroom with a different outfit on and her belongings in her hand. He scrambled to get on his feet and walked down the bleachers steadying his thoughts but not so much of his movements.
As she continue to walk he jogged up to her as she walk out the gate.
He believe he heard his ragged breathing because she visibly tensed up pulling her earbuds out her ears.
My foot steps came to a complete stop as she turned around.
Her shoulder length hair drifted infront her glasses covering her green eye and leaving the blue on uncovered.
In iritation,but with with curiosity she asked,
"What do you want Max"
She rose her well plucked eyebrows and gave a look that could kill the dinosaurs.
Max spoke,
"I was going to ask if you need a ride home".
She lowered her eyes and pointed to the Mosda.
Max quickly regretted what he said then quickly added on,
"...I meant could you drive me home I really would appreciate it".
She glared at him like he was out of his mind and needed a therapist.
She stared at me searching then mumbling unsure of herself,"sure".
Then quickly adding on "This never happened okay"
I nodded and fist pounded the air,then walked to her white Mosda.
While opening the other side of her Mosda Gloria threw her book bag in the back and rolled her eyes.
"What,Max said ".
"Just wondering when you'll ever close the door,maybe the 4th of July."
He realized what she was saying and close the door mumbling a few swear words.
She started the car the pulled out the parking spot then onto the highway going 45 mph.
"Which neighborhood".
"Second one on the right".
Stopping at the stop light she peeled her hands of the steering wheel for just a minute.
Tired of the eerie silence he spoke up.
"What's up with the moodiness earlier?"
"Nothing,it just my other way of saying I rather talk to a shoe".
"That hurt,he said holding his hand over his heart laughing".
"Whatever"
After a few minutes of silence she said,"Which house"
"That's the one"
She pull up in the driveway telling me I was home.
"Thanks"
I started to grabbed for the handle when she locked the door and said "don't tell nobody this ever happen deal"
"Deal"
She unlocked the doors and gave me an half hearted smile.
Max exited the car,and walk into warm of his home.
