Okay, this might be the only serious thing so far written in this book, but I have to say something about it.
A few days ago I found Mind Zero in steam, and since it looked pretty good besides the review I decided to give it a try. The only game with a similar mechanism or game play was Persona 3 and it exited me the similarity of both, my reasoning was something like "Oh well, if I loved Persona I would love this too." or something along those lines. So I bought the game and played it.
The first minutes of gameplay I had a lot of Persona Flashbacks, for example: The MIND addicts reminded me of the people who got the apathy syndrome , The kinda-clumsy detective to Adachi, and this girl who appears at the beginning of the game who is with the main character sounds or tries to sound a lot like Chie. I tried to keep an open mind and to push persona apart, but for me within the first thirty or fifty minutes of gameplay MIND Zero felt for me as a copy of the Persona series.
I have to say a few positive things about the game, because not everything in the game is bad or terrible, the art style, the opening movie and soundtrack, the character design and illustrations are really good, and one of my favorites is the first illustration of the main character when he picks his weapon (in something that looks similar to the velvet room) AND IT IS AMAZING.
Yet, the game for me wasn't enjoyable and it felt really awkward to the point that I couldn't even go further than the moment went the characters go ghost hunting and stuff because I couldn't deal with the fact that the game felt as copy of my favorite RPG.
If you have never played any game in the Persona serie, you might find MIND Zero an enjoyable game, and if you're into that kind of RPG's you could even like it, which is totally fine and okay, or if you feel curious about the game you should give it try no matter whether you have played Persona or not, so you can develop your own opinion about the game.
This is mostly rambling but I felt like I should get this off my chest and this felt like a really good way to do so.
