Chapter #2

Yuma is shocked. Evelyn runs to her home.

"No! Wait!" Shouts Yuma. But Evelyn didn't stop. She moved the door wider so she could get through. She walked down the hall to the kitchen. She saw her mother and Daniel on the floor with garbage bags.

"Wh.. what happened?" Asked Evelyn. Yuma walked in.

"Someone broke into the house when we all were gone." Explains Dan.

"Huh." Evelyn says softly. She bolts to the stairs to her room upstairs. She swung open the door to see clothes and books on the floor. She immediately gets on her hands and knees and starts looking through everything.

"Evelyn? What are you looking for?" Asks Yuma.

"It's gone. It's gone." Murmurs Evelyn.

"What's gone?"

"My key!" Exclaims Evelyn.

"What?!"

"Astrid was in it. I have to get it back!" Explains Evelyn.

"What? How are you going to do that?" Asks Yuma.

"How am I going to get it back?" Thinks Evelyn.

"Caswell!" Exclaims Evelyn.

"Caswell?"

"Caswell is good with computers, right?" Asks Evelyn.

"Yeah but, we can't find the thief with just a computer. We need to find clues." Explains Yuma.

"Yeah but, Caswell can help." Says Evelyn

"I don't know if he can." Replies Yuma.

Evelyn looks down. Her eyes start to water.

"I can't believe you! You don't want to help! What happened if this happened to you! Astral would be gone! And you would stop at nothing to get it back!" Shouts Evelyn.

Everything went quiet.

"Evelyn...."

"No! Get out! Go!" Shouts Evelyn. Turning her back to Yuma. Yuma gets up from the floor and walks towards the doorway. And as he left, he closed the door. Leaving Evelyn crying softly on the floor.

Yuma slowly walked down the stairs to the hall. A police man was talking to Raven and Dan. He stopped on the last step. They turn to Yuma.

"Hello. Are you friends with Evelyn?" Asks the officer.

"Yes. But how do you know Evelyn?" Asks Yuma.

"I'm a friend of her mothers. We met in high school." Explains the officer.

"Yeah Yuma. He's cool." Says Dan.

The officer laughs.

"Is Evelyn upstairs?" Asks Dan.

"Yeah." Replies Yuma.

"We heard a lot of yelling. Is something missing? Asks Raven.

"Yeah. Her key is gone." Explains Yuma.

"Oh no. Her father gave her that. Evelyn! Is everything okay?" Shouts her mother. But there was no answer. Her mother runs up the stairs.

"Evelyn...."

"She's really upset. She yelled at me to leave." Explains Yuma.

They went quiet. Dan then rushed up the stairs, leaving Yuma and the officer in the hall.

"Do you duel?" Asks the officer.

"Yeah! Duelling is the best." Exclaims Yuma.

"Well, I agree. The names Walter." He reaches out his hand to Yuma. Yuma shakes his hand. Then they duel.

"Go away." Murmurs Evelyn, still sobbing.

"Evelyn, you want to talk?" Asks Raven.

"No!" Evelyn shouts.

"Let me mom." Says Dan.

"Go ahead." Raven says. Then Raven leaves to the stairs.

"Evelyn, can we talk?" Asks Dan. There was no answer, that was good. He opens the door and walks over to Evelyn and kneels beside her. Out of the blue, Evelyn gave Dan a big hug. He was shocked, but he hugged her back. They let go.

"What's wrong?" Asks Dan.

"My.. my key was stolen. Astrid was in it. I need it." Sobs Evelyn.

"The police will find the thief. I promise." Says Dan.

"I.. I just want to know why someone would take something like that." Wonders Evelyn.

"I don't know. But we will get it back."

"Promise?" Asks Evelyn.

"Promise." They hug again, but for longer. Evelyn smiles, then stops.

"I hope you're right Dan."
