I pull up into Ashlynn's driveway. She is waiting by the door in a yellow tank top, which compliments her hair well, and some blue Jean shorts. When she sees me she waves a friendly hello and quickly runs to the passenger's seat.

"You should really wear longer pants," I tell her.

She sticks her tongue out playfully and say, "Since when did you become my brother."

We laugh.

At times like these I wonder if it really would be so bad to have more then one friend. I don't really get along with people, but surprisingly Ashlynn and I are still close friend. She sees something in me I guess.

"So where are we going?" I ask.

She gives me a smile, "Do I really need to answer that question?"

"The mall it is then," I say smiling as I pull out of the driveway.

~Later that day~

We have been going from one store to the next for nearly an hour, mostly clothing stores. So far we haven't found much, Ashlynn did get a pair of pants at some store I don't remember.

The mall is busy as usual and there are people everywhere. Some of them are parents and their children who look like they are in a hurry, probably trying to do some last minute school shopping. Then there are teens who just hang out where ever.

I feel someone poking my shoulder, it's Ashlynn. "Did you even hear a word I said?" She says this with a bit of annoyance.

"Sorry. I wasn't paying attention. What did you say?"  I ask.

"I asked if you wanted to eat. It's already 1:30."

This is always the worst part of the day when we hang out. Ashlynn doesn't know about my anorexic problems, and I want to keep it that way. But will she suspect anything if I say no. I could just say I ate before we left, but then she might ask why if I knew we were hanging out today.

This is so frustrating, I have to fight with myself to answer a simple question. Maybe I should just eat a little, maybe a few fries or something, we could share perhaps.

"Sure, but I'm not really hungry. Maybe we could share something." I finally answer.

She smiles, "Where should we eat?"

"No idea. I don't really care."

"Fine then," she grabs my arm, "Then we will choose the sixth one we see."

I smile. You can always depend on Ashlynn to do something random when you can't make a decision.

So it turns out that we winded up in the fast food section. What a nightmare. This food is just full of calories. Luckily we only bought one small fry. Turns out that she wasn't that hungry either.

Suddenly she gets up, "I need to go to the bathroom. I'll meet you at the fountain ok?"

I nod and she hurries off to the bathroom.

I get up and start walking to the fountain, when I'm suddenly knocked to the ground.

What the heck!!

"I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there." Says a male voice.

I look up and see a boy. He is gorgeous. He has medium brown hair and dark brown eyes.

I lay there unable to speak.

"Hey! Are you ok?" The boy says as he crawls off of me.

"Ummm," I begin to say, "Y-yes. I'm fine."

The boy smiles, "Good. I didn't mean to knock you over, I'm sorry."

"It's alright. I should have been paying attention." I reply shyly.

"I should have too. Anyways I have to go. Maybe I'll see you around." He says as he heads off.

I just stand there. Great. I didn't even get his name.

"Dante." I turn around. It's Ashlynn. "I thought you were going to meet me at the fountain."

My heart is still racing from my encounter with the boy, "I-I'm sorry. I got distracted."

"It's ok," she smiles, "But we should head home. My parents are taking me out for dinner tonight."

"Well let's get going then." I smile and we head home.
