No Ordinary People

Chapter 1

 “Chad! One American breakfast on table six!” “Yes sir.” He took the order slip and back to his station. He’s working as a cook in a diner somewhere in Bangkok. When his parents died he stayed in a peaceful town in Bangkok and at the age of sixteen he learned how to live for his life and when he arrived in the diner, Mr. Tong, the owner of the diner, keep him. He was a good person and for exchange Chad has been a loyal employee. The only problem is he really doesn’t know about the real story of Chad’s life. He only knew is that his parents had died in a car accident here in Bangkok. “Order’s ready Sir.” he said to the counter and put the order and head back again to his station.

The day ended and he and Mr. Tong left in the diner, Chad cleaning the tables and Mr. Tong counting the sales. “Ah excuse me.” A voice of a man said entering the diner he turned his self on him and notice he’s not a local guy he has a curly hair, cream-like skin, hazel eyes and as tall as him. “Sorry dude but we’re close now just come back tomorrow.” He said but the boy insists walking inside and sat on a chair. He walks towards him to tell him that they are close but Mr. Tong stopped him “Chad just let him seat and take his order besides he’s just the last customer we have tonight.” Though he hesitates to do but he did as Mr. Tong ordered.

After a few minutes he head back to the table with a plate on his hand. He stopped when he saw Mr. Tong and the guy talking seriously. Though he’s a little far from them but he can hear clearly what they’re talking about.

“I think you need to ask him Mr. Tong.” The guy with hazel eyes said.

“I think you’re right kid.” Mr. Tong said. “Chad? Can you come over here please?”

“What is it Mr. Tong?” He answered and putting the food on the table and he look at the guy and he’s grinning at him.

 “Is it true?” He was surprised of the question Mr. Tong asked him; ‘What true? What did this guy said to Mr. Tong’ he asked his self “Truth about what Mr. Tong?” “That your parents didn’t die in an accident.” And he looks at the young boy straight in the eye looking for truth “So? Are you gonna tell me the truth about your parents Chad?” “Ah… Umm.. Mr. Tong… The truth is..” He stumble and the guy suddenly speaks up.

“Actually Chad I tell him about the truth of your parent’s death.” He said nonchalantly.

“What? What did you say? You don’t know anything about the truth of my parent’s death and besides I don’t know you and you have no right to tell something about my parents.” He said madly and the boy just stares at him like it’s nothing and put some noodle on his mouth.

“So what if I tell you that I know everything about your parents?” He said in a confident tone.

“What are you talking about? You don’t know anything and I think you haven’t born on that day. And please can you just leave if you don’t have any good thing to say?” Chad said to him clenching his fist.

“I’m sorry but we’re just the same age Chad Hamilton, that’s your real name right?” He said and Chad was frozen his body feels cold and sweat starts to come out in his body. How did he know my real name? He though after that the guy stood up and took his bag and left some money on the table. “I know everything about you Chad and I know what is going to happen in your future.” He said and that’s when he start to think of whom the hell is this guy. “Who are you and how did you know all about me?”

“I think, Chad, it’s better to tell the truth about yourself to the one who keep you all this years and I tell you all I know.” He look at him as he step outside the diner and when Chad turn around Mr. Tong left the table and went upstairs.

Chad gets out of his bathroom when he heard a knock and he went to open it. He unlock the door and saw Mr. Tong standing “What is it Mr. Tong?” He asks “Chad about what happened a while ago would like to explain it to me?” He took a deep breath and he thought that it’s time that Mr. Tong should know about his life. Chad sat on his bed and Mr. Tong on a chair near the window and Chad started his story.

Back in the past:

“Chad! move faster we need to take you out of here.” His Mom said holding his hand. He looks at his surroundings it has so many rooms and the wall painted white. “Mom what is happening? Why are we running?” he asks his Mom confused of what is going on.

 “Maria I think it’s time that we have to tell our son of what is happening here.” His Dad told his Mom whilst looking at their back watching if someone is after them and when he found an open room they enter and his Father stand in front of it guarding.

 “Mom, I’m scared what is going on here?” He sat in the corner hugging his knees and tears start to form on his eyes. Her Mom walks towards him and she hugs him and after that she reaches Chad’s hand and put a marble on his hand and told that he has to keep it until someone is going to help him.

He looks at them, they look scared but they try to hide it in their son so he won’t feel frightened and his eyes focus on his Father. He saw his Father waving his hand on the air and try to reach something and after that he heard a cracking noise and when he looks up a pipe floating in the air moving towards his Father and reach it and put on the door knob to hold it. His face looks puzzled of what he just saw but when he try to ask something strong banged the door and his father flew back and hit his body on the wall.

He startled and shouts to his father and he tried to run towards his father but her Mom grab him and hug him. Suddenly he felt a clenched on his stomach and close his eyes of the pain he felt and when he opens it he was shocked. He looks at the surroundings and notice that they were in the different place “Mom where are we? Where is Dad?” He asks his Mom and after that his Mother told him that Chad has a special ability like his Dad and also told that he has to find a Watcher to help him find the other that has a special ability like him to turn down the Division.

Those words stuck on Chad’s mind but doesn’t sink in he still confused of what is going on on his family. “Mom I’m still scared I don’t know what to do.” He said to his Mother and after that he was told that the Watcher will be his guide to locate the other and his Mother hugged him and said I love you to him and when they separate each other she said goodbye and disappear on thin air.

 “And that was it; next thing I knew I was in Bangkok. I was 11 when she left me here.” He said finishing his story. He looks at Mr. Tong and he’s face look puzzled of everything he said to him. “I know you wouldn’t believe me if I say this to you that’s why I made up a story for you to believe in.” He said in disappointment. “What is this they call Division? And who are they? Why are they after your parents and you?” Mr. Tong asks him instead of surprised those are the words came out of his mouth questions that even Chad can’t answer it. “The truth is Mr. Tong those are the questions that I have to find some answers.” He said and Mr. Tong went in front of him and he tap his shoulder saying that he needs to find the guy and said that he could be the one that can help him.
