As both Martha and The Doctor were running, more and more angels were gaining in on them. “Doctor, I sometimes think that you have the strangest of ideas and plans sometimes”. “Yes. But they work in the end don’t they?” and Martha simply replies “Yes”.

As they were running something caught the attention of The Doctor. “Stop. There is something I want to check. Whatever you do. Don’t Blink”. The Doctor walked up to an angel all by itself and noticed it was holding a red crystal. “Oh, hello”. Martha tried hard to concentrate but her eyes started to burn and she was nearly ready to blink. “Doctor, hurry up. I’m going to blink any second now”. “Then don’t. This is really important. I think I’ve seen this before. I’m mean; not this exact one but I remember this. Almost remember.

And just then, Martha blinked. “So, should I take it? Are you listening to me? Martha? Martha”? And The Doctor takes a brief glimpse over his shoulder and notices that Martha has been sent back in time.

Pondering on whether to take the crystal and save Martha or just travel back to his Tardis, The Doctor has a revelation. “I fought in The Last Great Time War. I killed my own kind and saved the universe. I have been living a life since, full of loss and pain and death and regret. But I must learn from my past mistakes and I must follow my old self. I will play the recorder, I will were a crazy scarf and eat jelly babies, I will wear a stick of celery and love cricket and I will save Martha. But not before I steal this crystal.

The Doctor runs to the crystal and grabs it. He looks at the shiny red object and as he turns around he too is transported back in time by an angel.
